[Bug 58452] New: Change codepage for ru_UA and uk_UA locales
by WineHQ Bugzilla July 7, 2025

July 7, 2025

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58452 Bug ID: 58452 Summary: Change codepage for ru_UA and uk_UA locales Product: Wine Version: 10.11 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: pidor1977(a)duck.com Distribution: --- Wine seems to change the current 8-bit codepage based on locales. For ru_RU, it seems to be something like CP866 or Windows-1251. I would expect it to be the same for ru_UA and something like CP1125/RUSCII for uk_UA. However, it seems to fallback to (something closer to) CP437 or Windows-1252, resulting in garbage latin characters for cyrillic text. ru_RU Example: Яндекс.Браузер — это безопасный и быстрый браузер с нейросетями. uk_UA Example: ßíäåêñ.Áðàóçåð — ýòî áåçîïàñíûé è áûñòðûé áðàóçåð ñ íåéðîñåòÿìè. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 786] wrc gives parse error if resource nameID has quotes
by WineHQ Bugzilla July 7, 2025

July 7, 2025

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=786 --- Comment #20 from Stian Low <wineryyyyy(a)gmail.com> --- I confirm Hunk FAILED errors occurred when applying the original diff patch. I recreated the original patch 1 to 1 and confirmed it was valid and resolved all reported issues. I ran `git diff > git.patch` to produce the new patch. I ran `git apply git.patch` without any of the previous Hunk FAILED errors. This is among the oldest highest priority bugs in Bugzilla and seems ready to be resolved. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 57840] New: Discworld Noir - half Screen and wrong colors
by WineHQ Bugzilla July 6, 2025

July 6, 2025

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57840 Bug ID: 57840 Summary: Discworld Noir - half Screen and wrong colors Product: Wine Version: 10.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: wine(a)felixnuesse.de Distribution: --- Created attachment 78054 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=78054 Screenshot of game with broken colors When running Discworld Noir with an unmodified wine-10.0, the game works, but the colors are messed up and the "resolution" is broken. (See the attached images) It is possible to run the game with xephyr (Xephyr -br -ac -noreset -screen 960x600x16 :4) in a lower color mode, which fixes the issues. It seems 32-bit color causes issues with the game. Sadly, xepyhr is not available on all platforms. I am not sure if this is even fixable by wine itself, so feel free to close this issue if it is not applicable. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
