It always maps the whole streaming buffer even though it tracks the changed parts and flushes them correctly: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/793ac83d5b7fc0bc440714b218d607… wow64_map_buffer does skip the copy if you use GL_MAP_INVALIDATE_* flags but wined3d fails to properly set these flags. Go back to the Set Bindings menu and note how the controller image looks. The problem is there is a "screen effects" feature (which are like screen shaders in RetroArch, used to emulate old CRTs, etc) which doesn't work. By default, BigPEmu uses OpenGL (BigPEmu main menu > Video > Video Plugin > BigPEmu_Video_OpenGL) but can also be changed to use D3D12 which will cause it crash at startup on macOS 11. Steps to reproduce: 1. launch BigPEmu 1.18 with the following options (also opens a console): wine ~/BigPEmu_v118/BigPEmu.exe * -conout 2. use backspace/enter to navigate backward/forward in BigPEmu, go back to the main menu, then Video > Screen Effect > choose any screen effect 3. an error message pops up: "Failed to set the selected screen effect. It may be incompatible with your hardware or video plugin. You can enable logging and check the log for more details." 4. check the console which shows this error: "[1;31mError: Graphics hardware isn't equipped to run screen effects. The specific command "wget ... | gpg --dearmor -o ...winehq-archive.key" creates a binary keyring file but saves it with a .key extension. apt now rejects this mismatch with the error: "The key(s) in the keyring /etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key are ignored as the file has an unsupported filetype," because it expects .key files to be ASCII armored (text) and .gpg files to be binary. Since the repository .sources files (e.g., winehq-questing.sources) are hardcoded to look for /etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key, the most compatible fix is to remove the gpg --dearmor step and save the key as plain ASCII text. (By "soft lock", I mean that FL Studio itself is still responsive, but you're completely blocked from doing anything and the only way to get out of it is to kill the process.) ====== Steps to reproduce: 1. You will need the Arial font or any ttf named as arial.ttf in "C:/Windows/fonts/". If you have Winetricks just run "winetricks corefonts" (you will need the cabextract package). 2. Download any 32-bit or 64-bit VST to test. This is the one I tried, a 32-bit plugin (http://veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/) The plugin itself is working perfectly. You can use any VST you want, as long as you know whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit. Put the dll file in "~/.wineprefix/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steinberg/VstPlugins/". 3. Open the FL Studio version which DOESN'T match the instruction set of the VST you're using. If you're using a 32-bit VST plugin, open FL Studio 12 (64-bit). If you're using a 64-bit VST plugin, open FL Studio 12 (32-bit). (If you're using the VST I linked to, open FL Studio 12 (64-bit)) 4. When FL Studio is launched for the first time, a featured project file is automatically loaded. Click "File" in the top left corner and then "New" to create an empty project. 5. Click "Options" > "Manage Plugins" 6. Click the "Start scan" button with "Verify plugins" enabled (make sure the light is red). Let it scan for plugins. 7. Close the window, click "Add", and then "More plugins..." (under System) 8. Find and select "S-YXG50" (or if you used another VST, pick that). 9. Because the instruction set of the VST plugin doesn't match the host program's (FL Studio), FL Studio will try to run the VST plugin under a "bridge" (which uses ilbridge.exe, the bridging program installed as part of FL Studio). However, the plugin never loads.
