This bug has been reported to upstream here: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/5477 Likewise, it seems like it's possible that the crashes that I'm seeing are related to this commit here: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58143 The behavior that I'm seeing is as follows: Working: Wine 11.0 (with Wayland) with the latest DXVK commits Working: Wine 11.1 (without Wayland) with the latest DXVK commits Broken: Wine 11.1 (with Wayland) with the latest DXVK commits To trigger the bug with 100% certainty, within the game you need to open the player map and use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. This will reliably cause the game to instantly crash. Unfortunately I hit a rsync call which fails: $ rsync -aq --delete-before dir-a dir-b rsync: [Receiver] Failed to dup/close: Socket operation on non-socket (108) rsync error: error in IPC code (code 14) at pipe.c(157) [Receiver=3.2.7] rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [sender] rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(231) It looks like rsync forks a child process, and the child tries then to close the derived socket, which cannot be found in closesocket/socket_list_remove. The code below minimally demonstrates the issue. Use `i686-w64-mingw32-gcc test.c` and `wine a.exe` after placing some text onto the clipboard from Emacs. For that, I'm using WineD3D in a modified version as of 11.0 and am building it with sanitizers enabled. For this, I'm reporting only one pixel format in GetPixelFormat. It being a hardcoded one, that will likely be present on most systems. (32-bit, 888, yada-yada). After the first frame is finished rendering, ASAN complains about line 596 being a heap use-after-free in the NVIDIA .so. Looking at what happens, in swapchain.c, the pixel_format at line 594, after "Presenting DC", is obtained from the context_gl->pixel_format field. pixel_format = &wined3d_adapter_gl(swapchain->device->adapter)->pixel_formats[context_gl->pixel_format]; This line seems suspicious to me, at the point where it gets set line 1907, the returned pixel format is directly the one from ChoosePixelFormat, which is 1 index-based according to documentation. This leads me to the assumption, that this is a mistake that has went overlooked, because most of the time more than one pixel format is returned. >From my understanding, the line should read: pixel_format = &wined3d_adapter_gl(swapchain->device->adapter)->pixel_formats[context_gl->pixel_format - 1]; ASAN doesn't complain about that part anymore afterwards. While D2D1GeometrySinc::AddArc() is currently a stub, it tries to be smart and calls d2d_figure_add_vertex() to add a terminating arc point to the figure, however this doesn't work, and next call to ::AddLine() draws the line from the point where previous line was terminated instead of an added vertex, and this leads to drawing a distorted rectangle. A simple implementation of ::AddArc() that calculates points of two arc quadrants and calls d2d_geometry_outline_add_arc_quadrant() helper also suffers from the same problem: added arc quadrants don't seem to properly mark end of the figure segment. This seems to be caused by difference between how ::AddLines() and d2d_geometry_outline_add_line_segment() (used by d2d_rounded_rectangle_geometry_init() helper called from ::CreateRoundedRectangleGeometry()) create line segments. Attached test applications (source + binary) use both described above approaches: ::CreateRoundedRectangleGeometry() and ::AddLine() + ::AddArc(). In wine 11.0 everything works fine, but starting in wine 11.1 no wine process can run successfully (not even winecfg), as wine seams to insist on attempting to create a graphics que on one of the mi100s, no combination of DRI_PRIME or other environment variables seams to dissuade wine from trying this.
