Briefly, I can report the most suspected output line: Fatal EXCEPTION_WINE_CXX_EXCEPTION exception (code=e06d7363) raised which is repeated many times, and meanwhile the application main window appears and suddenly disappears. Sorry but I am not an expert so: -I am not able (yet) to say which was the working wine version (trying dnf history, advice are welcome) -I have seen that Bug 50760 seems related but I don't know if it's the same bug. -There is also an error message box from the application itself; I suspect it's just a consequence of the bug, anyway it's someting like "error 148:3 licensing has stopped working". Steps to reproduce: 1. Mount downloaded ISO image. 2. Run Setup.exe using Wine 3. Replace files in the C:/Program Files (x86)/Age of Mythology/ directory with the ones contained in the Crack directory. 4. Run C:/Program Files/Age of Mythology/aomx.exe using wine. Expected results: Age of Mythology runs. Actual results: Age of Mythology errors on startup with "Initialization failed". This is a regression in the most recent few commits. (Wine was built with GCC - such ELF builds of x86_64 Wine can't be done with Clang.) Before the change, the executable runs fine, after the change, it ends with: [...] setjmp returned 1 d = wine: Unhandled exception 0xc000008f in thread 24 at address 0000000140002F5 8 (thread 0024), starting debugger... The same issue can be reproduced with the latest git version of Wine. FYI: There's no explorer component in bugzilla. So I've put this under unknown. Is there a better component for this? (There *is* an explorerframe component, but that seems too specific for including virtual desktops, as the description seems to be limited to just the windows7+ taskbar.) In a wine prefix with virtual desktops enabled, using the /desktop=shell argument to start explorer, when no other wine processes are running, causes wine to produce two virtual desktop windows. The first virtual desktop is the configured via virtual desktop setting in winecfg, which remains empty. The second virtual desktop is the requested shell desktop that contains the taskbar and start menu. Shouldn't the /desktop=shell argument check to see if a desktop already exists and if not just create one desktop? If this is a case of reused functionality, maybe the code that added the "enable taskbar / start menu" checkbox to winecfg could be upstreamed as a fix?
