The config file is an XML-File of the form <Configuration Product="Standard"> <Display Level="full" CompletionNotice="yes" SuppressModal="no" AcceptEula="yes" /> <PIDKEY Value="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" /> <USERNAME Value="xxxxxxxx" /> <COMPANYNAME Value="xxxxxxxxxxxx" /> </Configuration> where "x" are valid entries for our installation. When using this file the install completes without asking the user for this information. It should return `ERROR_NOT_LOCKED` (158) instead. This breaks Rust's `std::fs::File::unlock`, which deliberately calls `UnlockFile` twice on every release (to handle the documented case of a handle holding both an exclusive and a shared lock on the same region), and explicitly tolerates `ERROR_NOT_LOCKED` on the second call but propagates any other error [1]. The result is a spurious "Lock violation" error reported by Rust programs that use `File::unlock` under Wine. I encountered this downstream while adding a Wine integration test in uv [2]. In `server/fd.c`, `unlock_fd()` calls `set_error(STATUS_FILE_LOCK_CONFLICT)` when no lock with the exact (start, end) is found on the handle [3]. Per `dlls/ntdll/error.h` that status maps to `ERROR_LOCK_VIOLATION` (33) [4], whereas the semantically correct status for "no such lock" is `STATUS_RANGE_NOT_LOCKED`, which maps to `ERROR_NOT_LOCKED` (158) [5, 6]. It works almost perfectly, but there's a bug: clickable animations on encyclopedia entries are not displayed at all, and are not playable. There are many entries with static images instead of clips, which are displayed normally, but not animations. According to my testing, these errors are present for all clang versions before 19 (tested clang11-20) 1. For SSSE3/AES/PCLMUL/AVX2/SHA/RDRAND/RDSEED intrinsics, per-source compiler flags are needed for clang <= 18. 2. Separate case for VAES/VPCLMUL in aes-ymm.c: -mvaes/-mvpclmulqdq cannot be used because clang 11/12 expose broken AVX-512 declarations from vaesintrin.h. 3. There is also a separate clang-msvc issue in SymCrypt byte-swap macros. SymCrypt detects clang-msvc as MSVC, so it selects the MSVC byte-swap helpers: _byteswap_ushort, _byteswap_ulong, byteswap_uint64 this later lead to linking errors: lld-link: error: undefined symbol: __declspec(dllimport) _byteswap_uint64 lld-link: error: undefined symbol: __declspec(dllimport) _byteswap_ulong Suggested fixes are in attached patches: 1. tools/makedep: Support per-source extra compiler flags. Adds support for per-source EXTRACFLAGS/EXTRACXXFLAGS 2. libs/symcrypt: Fix clang-msvc x86 build. Fixes errors by selecting needed flags for symcrypt source files. Also using __builtin for biteswap. 3. libs/symcrypt: Add clang wrappers for YMM VAES intrinsics. This is a workaround since -mvaes/-mvpclmulqdq breaks compilation for clang-11/12. Only Mono, Stereo, Quadrophonic and 5.1 is available even though my system is set to 7.1 output in the host os configuration.
