This effect does not occur when running the game with DXVK, meaning there's a very specific difference the two implementations that has a large effect on this game. The game works as expected when I install <a href="https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install">mf-install</a> libraries, which tells me that the problem is with the video rendering. Video is not rendered, but audio is played. Starting the game in a virtual desktop does not help, it only replaces the black screen with the blue background of the virtual desktop. The videos can still be skipped, so this does not prevent reaching the game menu and starting a game. All GStreamer plugins are installed (base, good, ugly, bad, libav). Despite the bug metadata being set to WINE 9.8, the current 9.9 build is affected too (but is not proposed when opening a new bug report). This behaviour has been noticed on a Wayland setup with an AMD GPU and Mesa drivers. I should be able to try reproducing it on X.org and with nVIDIA non-free drivers too, I will report back once it is done. You can hear the sound playing, but the video fails to load. The game seems to try to load the video again and finds itself in a failing loop, leaking memory. While trying to reproduce the intro video, the game spams to the log: >fixme:mfplat:media_source_get_service_GetService Unsupported service {dd0ac3d8-40e3-4128-ac48-c0add067b714}. This issue (memory leak) doesn't occurs on Proton, but the intro video still can't be reproduced. Procedure: 1 - Open up the game 2 - Wait until the first intro (Massive Monster opening) ends 3 - Watch for the system monitor that RAM is leaking. In "Arma 3" and in "Arma: Reforger" CapsLock is used as push to talk button for radio and you are often holding it alongside other buttons. How to reproduce: 1. Caps lock state need to be on. 2. Hold other key, for example W for walking forward 3. Hold CAPS LOCK 4. In Arma 3 it will start broadcasting for ms and stop and after 1s it will start broadcasting again. In Arma: Reforger this will toggle between Squad <-> Platoon radio instead because it detected double click on Caps Lock. Game will ignore you are still holding caps lock. There is small chance that bug will not trigger. There is also possibility that game may mistakenly detect that you are still holding the Caps Lock key after releasing it, causing it to continue broadcasting until you press it again. I don't know how to reproduce this one. This is very common issue for Arma players on Linux.
