Mouse hit testing is vertically offset from the visible cursor position by approximately 20 pixels. Wine 11.12 is good. Wine 11.13 is bad. Git bisect: b868cd31d6b5fb0a5e09e45658c4901bb6d1c09a win32u: Move client surface rect computation out of the drivers. Reproduction: 1. Install the WebView2 Runtime in the Wine prefix. 2. Keep webview2_duckduckgo.exe and WebView2Loader.dll in the same directory. 3. Run wine webview2_duckduckgo.exe. 4. Move the cursor over and click elements on the DuckDuckGo page. The element receiving the mouse input is vertically displaced from the visible cursor. On Wine 10.0, it generates a certificate with an RSA 512 key. There are a few significant downsides here: 1. It is a difference in behavior from Win10 and Win11 default configuration. 2. RSA 512 is widely considered to be deprecated. 3. RSA 512 does not work properly for signing and signature validation. See the bug I just filed: Bug 60140. Why point #3 matters is that in TLS, modern versions of Windows Server, rsa_pss_rsae_sha256 (0x0804) is at the top of the signature algorithm list in the Certificate Request message (when client certificates are used), so if the client generates an RSA 512 key, it will never succeed the TLS negotiation. There are surely clients using default parameters to CertCreateSelfSignCertificate that used to work, but will fail to connect to certain TLS servers now. I've attached a sample program that demonstrates the issue. ----- The reason why this is happening, at least in part, is that CertCreateSelfSignCertificate calls CRYPT_CreateKeyProv when hProv is not passed in, which calls if (CryptAcquireContextW( &hProv, container, MS_DEF_PROV_W, PROV_RSA_FULL, CRYPT_NEWKEYSET )) https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/blob/master/dlls/crypt32/cert.c#L3786 MS_DEF_PROV_W is the "Base" cryptographic provider, which is set to use the default key length 512: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/blob/master/dlls/rsaenh/rsaenh.c?ref_… On Windows, the default provider is set via registry key on a per purpose basis (can be different for signature, key exchange, etc..). Executable: https://download.microsoft.com/download/5/f/7/5f7acaeb-8363-451f-9425-68a90… The installer itself starts correctly. When comparing it with a proper windows environment, the installer checks for available packages before giving the user the opportunity to select which packages to install (in my case the defaults plus the MFC libraries and the Windows 8.1 SDK, so the goal is to get this stack installed for an linux based build server which has to compile the windows binaries). While this takes some time on windows, wine instantly switches to the next "finalizing" step, which causes the application to close shortly afterwards. I suspect the winsock error causing the installer to not find any downloadable packages, resulting in a proper finalizing and closing. If any specific additional logs are required, please tell me and i will add them here instantly. There is a problem with rundll32.exe that I was finally able to isolate after lot of trial and error. The problem is on Debian Bookworm that the rundll32.exe process that is started never reaches wWinMain (I put TRACE() at the beginning). I'm attaching the bad trace log from Bookworm and the good trace from Bullseye. A simple workaround for me now is to copy rundll32.exe from Bullseye. Any ideas what to try next? Now, fitgirl repacks crashes at random progress, while rg-mechanics repacks are straight to the error, the same as always. I read that in the past this was fixed so that's a regression but since no-one has reported this and apparently no one has that problem, I'm filing this bug as normal. For the record: this bug happens since I installed linux, at the time Wine was at version 6.0.
