After a while from clicking said icon, the "Steamwebhelper is not responding" window [2] will appear, with a few different options to restart things with, of which none do any better. I believe the src\vgui2\vgui_surfacelib\Win32Font.cpp (963) : Couldn't get string length line shows up only when this problem can be seen, which could be a sort of a hint at least. Building before the mentioned commit, or reverting it, and efce37afd70 due to conflicts, on current 'git master' will make it work again. Hacking on it a bit, removing the 'wcsupr(refkey->name);' line also makes it work, though maybe that is obvious in this case, and might more or less nullify the point of the uppercasing intended. (Did not try a fresh prefix and clean install of Steam yet due to the cumbersome log-in process, but hopefully that is not necessary here.) Last tested at 'wine-10.17'. Restoring a minimized fullscreen notepad gets not drawn immediately. Just when moving the mouse inside the window or clicking again at the window list entry (which should minimize notepad again). This is with debian stable/trixie and kde plasma wayland. Could it reproduce it with my desktop and inside a VM. This is after commit 2f180106471a41fa3d95f21919b87b94d8e13e63 amstream: Implement the custom ddraw stream allocator. The allocator has a lot of custom behaviour that is very visible in how it interacts with Update(). Naturally this has the benefit of writing directly into the mapped surfaces. I was using the GOG version of Incoming, but the demo (the same one mentioned in bug 44864, MD5: 5b1fff6863768eeff95167e510d09a2e, SHA256: dcc55a269c33ea5363cd937284752d7ffe57f4774c55a38dfdd4a9172376563c, 3.8MB file called incoming.exe, available via cnet.com at least) also exhibits the same issue. I have attached the terminal output from the GOG version as log.txt, and I will also attach the terminal output of the GOG version as well as the demo versions of those two. The wine version I am using is from the Arch Linux repositories, and I am using a clean 64 bit wineprefix with no settings changed at all (this setup worked fine before), although I also tried a 32 bit wineprefix, same results. I can start ChessBase 18 from the command line with `WINEDEBUG="-warn+all,warn-dpa" wine start "C:\\Program Files\\ChessBase\\CBase18\\CBase18.exe"` in a 64-bit prefix. The application launches as usual, but after a few seconds, it stops responding to the mouse altogether. The CBase18.exe process consumes around 200% CPU as shown in `top` when this situation occurs. The log output does show new log entries when I focus or unfocus the virtual-desktop window, but otherwise, it does not typically appear to be logging anything. I then stop the process from the command line with, for instance, `killall CBase18.exe`. I'm attaching a screenshot to support my description. NB: The desktop manager is Gnome Wayland 49.2 but I use winex11 driver for UbisoftConnect. An example program can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X5ZwQJJP98fpQ2BJ5XB1g0XyUW6Abkyo?us…. Download the "full" program, unzip, and execute the TotheWord,exe file. There is no install file. This is a program that has been written in Delphi 12, and maybe this issue only affects Delphi programs. This program is used to create modules for a Bible program. When starting this program under 10.20, from the time the splash window appears until the application form is fully drawn takes about 15x longer than it does with Wine 10.19. Under the "Editor Mode" selection in the application menu, alternately selecting "Book Editor" and "Bible Editor" takes about five seconds on a fairly powerful computer for the respective forms to be fully drawn. In 10.19, this is nearly instantaneous. A significant lag also occurs when switching between some of the tabs in the form. I am almost certain that this regression has been caused by the commit titled "win32u: Update client surfaces starting from toplevel window." I don't have the expertise to revert this commit without causing a compile failure, but replacing the win32u.so file in the 10.20 build with the one from the 10.19 build does completely resolve this issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The sliders themselves have not looked right for quite a while, but after this update, they are unresponsive and unusable.
