did you run revdep-rebuild lately ? i didn't
that sounds as if you either got something broken during emerges or misconfigured something outside wine... i'm guessing the reboot refreshed the environment for Wine to work on, even though i ran `wineboot` on every attempt, i guess something deeper was going on here
your problem seems local...well, unless it's something wayland specific, I'm still using x11 driver maybe, like i said i'm on Wayland but am using the X11 driver because the Wayland one still doesn't work very well
