[Bug 60404] New: EndDeferWindowPos succeeds with HWNDs that don't share the same parent
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60404 Bug ID: 60404 Summary: EndDeferWindowPos succeeds with HWNDs that don't share the same parent Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: user32 Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: the.madamin20@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- MSDN mentions that any HWND provided to DeferWindowPos should share the same parent. Tests show Windows doesn't report any failure on DeferWinodwPos when you're calling it with a window that has a different parent and EndDeferWindowPos returns TRUE too, but even though it returns TRUE it doesn't move any window and GetLastError() returns ERROR_HWNDS_HAVE_DIFF_PARENT. WINE's behavior is inconsistent with Windows, and while it should fail it doesn't. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60404 --- Comment #2 from xmine64 <the.madamin20@gmail.com> --- I don't know about apps being dependent on this behavior, but I discovered this while I was working on a Win32 app. I was using WINE to debug it, and then when I was wondering why the project doesn't work on Windows while it works fine on WINE, I discovered this inconsistency. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60404 --- Comment #3 from Alexandre Julliard <julliard@winehq.org> --- OK, thanks. In general we don't try to replicate that kind of behavior, because if it fails on Windows, presumably no app is going to do that. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60404 --- Comment #4 from xmine64 <the.madamin20@gmail.com> --- I understand, that's why I would call it a "trivial" bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
