Wine currently uses 8-byte alignment for all ddraw surfaces, regardless of dwCaps. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56546 --- Comment #2 from Stefan Dösinger <stefan@codeweavers.com> --- Yeah a stride mismatch could indeed cause the symptom. And a 4 byte stride alignment for sysmem textures sounds likely, although it would need a test to confirm. I guess the surface is also using a non power of two size - that's also fine for sysmem surfaces. Hardware textures back in the day were generally limited to power of two sizes, which means anything bigger than a 4xN texture will have a stride that's a multiple of 8 anyhow. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56546 --- Comment #3 from Anton Baskanov <baskanov@gmail.com> --- These are not textures, just plain ddraw surfaces used for blitting. For some reason the alignment is different between (DDSCAPS_SYSTEMMEMORY | DDSCAPS_OFFSCREENPLAIN) and DDSCAPS_SYSTEMMEMORY surfaces. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Only three files needed to be placed into the game's folder namely ddraw.dll and dxwrapper.dll and dxwrapper.ini from dxwrapper and also enable ddraw.dll native in Winecfg. Apparently, dxwrapper implemented its own ddraw 2D rendering routines using DX9. As this appears to be Wine's version of ddraw (2D rendering not 3D) causing this glitch, d7vk project which also uses Wine's ddraw rendering facing same issue: https://github.com/WinterSnowfall/d7vk/issues/241 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
