[Bug 60284] New: game with CDDA is hard to make CDDA working
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60284 Bug ID: 60284 Summary: game with CDDA is hard to make CDDA working Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: mountmgr.sys Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: l12436.tw@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- I have a game call Mahou2, its came with a mix cd with data and cd track. game has BGM with MIDI or CDDA. for a very long time, I thought the wine CDDA is not implemented. because it never working for some reason. I looking into it. and found it actually implemented. that fact that it is not working is due to game detect the file first than read with cd track later. winecfg did not give ability to define a drive with cdrom and change its cdrom drive link like `/dev/sr0`. it always by pure wine detect. This cause user might not know if it is actually correct or not. or user might want to change the directory part to other location and link cdrom to `/dev/sr0` etc. current I found its useful is staging patch mountmgr-DosDevices and winecfg-Unmounted_Devices which end up allow user to modify the drive directory patch and cdrom link to `/dev/sr0` to make CDDA working. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60284 --- Comment #3 from Chunhao Hung <l12436.tw@gmail.com> --- wine is built by master, but this happened very long time. so almost no specific version game name I only know in Chinese call 少女魔法師2. Mahou2 is the game directory name. I actually do not know how it translate to English. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60284 --- Comment #4 from Rafał Mużyło <galtgendo@o2.pl> --- Some deeper googling suggests that it's a Chinese translation of a Japanese game (from 1997), the original title seems to be 魔法使いになる方法~夢見る星の物語~ (for the sequel), though there's no telling if the original plays the same as the later Chinese translation. Actually, I expect significant changes, given the time gap (unless I've misread those google results). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60284 --- Comment #5 from Chunhao Hung <l12436.tw@gmail.com> --- Actually no, I have said two staging patch (mountmgr-DosDevices/winecfg-Unmounted_Devices) will actually help this issue. CDDA is acutally implemented in wine, but in this game. you need to special requirement to allow it work. wine autodetect sometimes incorrect cause most of time CDDA is actually not working. just allow user to manually configure the mount device I think is enough ? That why for a long time I think this is not implement -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
