The short version is: test failures are real and VK_PAUSE on Windows is a mess. I wrote some additional tests, which I'll add to the MR, and I still have to figure out how best to make them pass (possibly by sprinkling some `todo_wine`, not sure yet) -- https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/10963#note_141174
