This was made with macOS in mind where we don’t have Proton and so we play windows games by installing the Steam client into WINE. If I need to add a check for if WINE is running on macOS for this I will.
Do you run Steam via wine-staging for MacOS or non-staging? I may have mistaken users running Steam via wine as more edge case vs more prevelant especially for MacOS. Battle.net and Steam both seemed to install/run best via wine-staging for bug fixes months ago: - https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59631#c38 I sort of assumed based on those tests that most folks who may be running Steam via wine would probably be using staging. Is that maybe too presumptuous?
