Is there a downloadable demo of this app anywhere? It looks like the crash is in
the new wintab code (surprise surprise). The app regressed because it stresses a
codepath not used by Photoshop which was the primary test app IIRC.
CCing aric, as he implemented this code.
BTW to get a decent backtrace you need to set WINELOADER to whatever your wine
binary is (wine-pthread or wine-kthread). Check using ps to see which is used,
then do export WINELOADER="/usr/local/bin/wine-pthread" or whatever.

Summary: Mirage 1.0 interface garbled

Mirage 1.0 by Bauhaus Software looks completely garbled on Wine. It's
predecessor, Aura, works like a charm, but the interface drawing seems to have
changed a bit...
Mirage, like Aura, uses it's own custom interface toolkit, and the drawing is
performed using ddraw. I allready tried 'em both with 'wine --debugmsg
x11drv,ddraw', but the output is the same (only the addresses changed).
You can get a demo of Mirage at http://www.bauhaussoftware.com
The provided URLs shows the interface and contains the output of 'wine
--debugmsg x11drv,ddraw Mirage.exe'.

Summary: Classic Painter stalls at splash screen
Product: Wine
Version: 20040121
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-user
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: robinpfeifer(a)web.de
OS: SuSE Linux 9.0, Wine 20040121 (no Windows)
This is the first time I report a bug, and it's all a bit intimidating, but I
hope the following information is of some use.
I've been using Classic Painter with no problems under various Wine versions
up to 20031212. There were no tricks needed to get the program to work.
In the new version (which I primarily installed for the improved tablet
support) Classic Painter now stops loading with the splash screen. At first
run it does accept username and serial number which it then displays on the
splash screen, but after that, nothing.
I tried clean installations of both the precompiled SuSE 9.0 package and a
self-compiled version from the sources, with identical result.
Here's the output of the debugger, with backtrace:
-------------------
bitpicker@linux:~> wine "c:/Program Files/Painter Classic/PClassic.exe"

ode mapping.
Please define your layout in dlls/x11drv/keyboard.c and submit them
to us for inclusion into future Wine releases.
See the Wine User Guide, chapter "Keyboard" for more information.

------------------
I've been told to start Wine with --debugmsg +wintab32 which I did, but the
output is the same as above. I also tried various other ways to start Painter
and all those which worked produced the same error. Lastly, I've also copied
an NTDLL.DLL from a Windows 2000 installation into the system directory and
set it to native, builtin, as this DLL seems to get special mention in the
debugger output, but that did not change anything either.

I got the same error while trying to create a multiplayer game.
It works correctly with Wine CVS from 01-01-2004.
More recent version say 'unhandled exception' then quit.
(I am using slackware linux)
