There are some similarities. I will see if I can get any of those suggested
regressions to work, thanks. But so far, none of the "winecfg" versions of wine
(>20050628) work so, if Moray ever did work, it would be under one of those
older config file versions. Keep on testing!

Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: nospam(a)thenerdshow.com
If you can get Moray 3.5 to successfully start under wine (see bug 3582) and
then compare with how it runs under windows or qemu, you will be able to see how
the program draws graphics to 4 opengl ports. Under wine, the opengl ports are
overlaid on top of eachother instead of obeying the x,y window coordinates.
This leads to other problems, such as menus and buttons being drawn over.

What's odd is that Moray 3.5 will correctly load, sometimes, with no
DLLOVERRIDES, when loaded into a managed window > 800x600 24bit color. This
suggests to me that it could be a race condition in the loading of the DLL
libraries?

Maybe someone can update the patch against current Wine and send it to

had a good-looking bug report complete with screenshot,
but the fellow says he can't file bugzilla bugs himself.
So here it is:
-- snip --
I have already in an other post [bug 3579] mentioned IBasic.
But if I use tabs in IBasic and the word which comes after it is a internal
command, so that it will be colered, in wine-20050930 it looks like that on
the right side:
http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/newwine.png
I think using spaces works still very well. Only tabs for it makes this
problem.
An other thing (I don't know if it is a bug or a not implemented feature)
is, that some programs don't update the window every time.
For example: In IBasic there existing in the directory "samples" some demos.
Some are running ok. But for exsample "lines.iba" creates also - like under
Windows - lines on the window, but you can only see them, if a other window
was over it or it was temporaly moved outside the desktop or anything else.

There existing a bug in newer Wine versions.
I use SuSE 9.3 as system.
If I used the Wine-version, which comes with the distribution
(wine-20050211), then the following window comes at start:
http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine1.png
But if I update to wine-20050830 or wine-20050930 then it looks like
http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine3.png
It is NOT a font-problem.
I have copied the WinXP fonts in the wine-directory, so it looks like this
screenshots.
But if I don't do it, only the used fonts and the window is smaller. But it
have no effect to the text, which is then in wine-20050211 shown and in
wine-20050830 and wine-20050930 _not_ shown.
The window of the screenshots are from the program
IBasic Stanadard Version 2.02D trail version by Pyxia:
http://www.pyxia.com/
The rest of the program and all the other programs I use, are running
perfect.
Only the window at the start of IBasic have this problem.

In case of X errors it helps to set "Synchronous" in HKCU\Software\Wine\X11

With some luck you get in the debugger a meaningfull back trace.

windows.
It works quite nicely, but as soon as you rename an item (pressing F2) it
becames incredible slow. Closing and opening the program and everything works
normally again.
There's no useful output that I can find, nor any clue of what can be happening.

Summary: Incorrect wrapping of toolbar buttons in toolbar control

Toolbar buttons in toolbar control is always being wrapped based on the
control's parent width. This is not what expected if the toolbar control is
created with some initial rectangle and NORESIZE flag is set.
In this case the expected behaviour can be that the toolbar control will wrap
its buttons based on this initial rectangle width, not the parent's width.
Now the result is that some buttons in toolbar control rows are not visible if
the initial rectangle width is less than the parent' width.

I am trying to run Riven and the program will start, but when it gets into the
game, it is unable to do the video because it cannot connect to my display
device. I am using Fedora Core 4 and installed the 20050930 FC3.i686 rpm. I
also have an NVIDIA G-Force 4 video card and am using the drivers given by
nvidia. I have done nothing special to the system, so I see no reason why the
display would be anything but :0.0, which is what the $DISPLAY variable is set
to. I tried to restrict and unrestrict my xhosts, but neither would work.
Here is the relevant output:
_X11TransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket for local
_X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/BVR102:0
_X11TransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket for tcp
_X11TransOpen: transport open failed for tcp/localhost:0

Please ensure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.
Any suggestions?
