Anyway, the app tightly fits a DVD. Still I think it's a wine bug, because its the output tells that it's an error in X11DRV_ToUnicodeEx. The games technically function even if its dependencies (.dll files) aren't configured as "native" in the DllOverrides in the WINE configuration file (no important error messages are given, but nothing visual will happen). Put amdspin.dll, arcadevf.dll, arcctl.dll, and wavemix.dll into the virtual c: \windows\system folder and specify the overrides and the games will start (and actually be usable). But I can't confirm this bug, it seems to be solved in todays wine. Should we set the bug to WORKSFORME?? >From the log it looks like something went wrong, Empire Earth detected it and tries to display the msvc runtime error dialog box. But at this point DirectDraw is set up allready and no GDI message boxes may be displayed. I have reproduced such a behavior in Windows: If there's no soundcard, Empire Earth tries to exit with such a dialog box after DDraw is initialised. In Windows, it simply crashes, and so it does in Wine in fullscreen mode.
