I think one doesn't have to install fonts in X anymore,
so maybe it's worth verifying this bug is fixed now.

I spoke too soon. The problem reappeared after reboot. Now it doesn't seem to
matter whether or not windows core fonts are installed.

I'll try to test with a more recent version soon.

Debian unstable has only version 20050725, but that version works. The splash
screen shows correctly in the middle of the screen and clicking it starts the
program. I'm assuming that is the way it works on Windows too. I'm marking this
one fixed.

RESOLVED (Well, almost):
Problem was caused by my 64 bit users installing windows Arial and Times Roman
fonts in ~/.fonts folder
Using the KDE Control Center to uninstall these fonts resolved the problem.
But some questions remain. This is definitely not the expected behavior.

I think that we should have some code in either X11DRV or ddraw /d3d that
overloads the winproc for the window and manages those kind of events.
This is needed for scaling the surfaces when the window is resized, so there's
no reason it couldn't be done for ALT+TAB or ungrabbing.
Personally I don't like DXGrab in desktop mode, because it makes desktop mode
pointless.

I added a critical section for now, the race will need to be fixed properly but
that will require large changes that will have to wait until after 0.9.

Hi,
I am having the same issue here.
I read talking about latest CVS. Can someone please explain what this is in
wine? Is this a wine issue or a MS issue?
My thread is http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3492
Hi Mike McCormack,
as you seem to have it working, could you please instruct me on how to:
1) check that wine is properly installed.
2) check that I have downloaded the proper files/application
3) how to install it so that it will work like yours?
I thank you so much as indeed I need this application bad.
Thank you,
Spiro
