Confirmed IT IS a problem with my 64 bit systems only.
This may be a bug in 64 bit Red Hat Fedora 4 that is being exposed by the new
wine? I may have to make diffs of wine 20050725-20050830 to see what changed to
narrow it down some. Time is short.
Problem only happens on my two 64 bit Fedora systems running wine >= 20050830
The exact same .ies4linux works good on all the 32 bit systems on my network (I
have about 5).

The problem persists in wine-cvs.
To run the program I had to run it like this:
wine c:\\Program\ Files\\visiv-co-uk\\SharpEye2\\sharpeye.exe
wine ./sharpeye.exe said it has a problem with filepaths.

What steps did you follow to get this to happen under Windows 2000? Under Wine
I have never experienced it repainting correctly; under Windows 2000 I have
never experienced it repainting incorrectly. I accept that you have managed to
make it fail under Windows 2000 but is that the norm for you or the exception?

Wine still needs a DIB engine and this is blocking quite a few things (e.g.
printing problem for transparent bitmap in PowerPoint, PowerPoint animation
performance issues, but there are many more issues).
TransGaming once posted a patch implementing a very incomplete DIB engine. It
was not merged in Wine due to issues with the approach that was used. I'm not
sure where this patch is now.
More recently ReactOS has been offering code. Steven said:
---
Note: I don't know if its relevant or not but one of the ReactOS developers Ge
van Geldorp has been working on a utility to autogenerate parts of the DIB
Engine that's in ReactOS and has offered to license his work under the LGPL.
According to my discussions with him only certain operations are supported though.
---
A bit of searching in the wine-devel archives would probably turn up a URL to
the relevant code.

Yes, looks like it is related to me. AFAIK currently we can only perform GDI
operations on DIBs that are in the same format as the X server screen. This is
because all our GDI operations are implemented using calls to the X server and
the X server can only work on bitmaps that are in the same format as the screen.
Note that the latter may not be 100% true with the API extensions in the recent
X server revisions but I don't know the details. IIRC this is one of the ways of
implementing a DIB engine that was discussed but it was ruled out because it
sucks if the X server is remote (because of all the roundtrips).

Summary: Unable to select audio format/sample rate/buffer size in
Traktor DJ Studio 2.6.2.117
Product: Wine
Version: 20050930
Platform: Other
URL: http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=traktor2_us
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vesuri(a)jormas.com
It is not possible to select the sample rate, audio latency and outputs in
Traktor DJ Studio 2.6.2.117 (demo version) available from
http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=traktor2_us
If the ALSA driver is used the audio device "DS Intel ICH5" (or DS ICE1712 Multi
if I set my other card as the "default" ALSA device) is shown and selectable in
the Audio Device dropdown, but when the device is selected no entries will be
available under Sample Rate, Audio Latency, Master Left (Mono), Master Right,
Headphones Left (Mono) or Headphones Right. DS stands for DirectSound here.
If the OSS driver is used there are four "DS" devices under Audio Device but
selecting these won't do anything either.
With an earlier version of Wine (can't remember which one) this did work. The
dropdown did show both DirectSound and MME devices and I was able to select
sample rate, audio latency and outputs. Traktor did work quite well except that
the audio drivers did not support more than 2 channels so Headphone outputs were
not selectable.
I did some debugging on this both in the ALSA driver and on dsound and saw that
Traktor calls IDirectSound_IDirectSound_GetCaps which seems to return the
capabilities that the ALSA driver returned. I have no idea what Traktor is
looking for though in order to get things shown in the dropdowns.
This might be an easy one, I just don't know where to look. The fully usable
demo version of the program (in which this exists) is downloadable from the
Native Instruments site for free. The download is just 18 megs. You'll need the
Windows Media dlls but other than that it runs with a plain Wine installation.

Tried on 20050930 & CVS.
Native riched20 will get you past that heap error.
Downloading files from the server doesn't always complete -- just try again, and
eventually the "Play" button will be enabled. When I press it, the app usually
hangs, which it strange as it seems to only do WinExec("RevelationClient.exe")
-- maybe a race in Wine.
Run the client by hand.
$ wine RevelationClient.exe
fixme:ole:OLEPictureImpl_Load Stat failed with hres 80004001
Segmentation fault
$
You can get past this bug by installing native DCOM98, and it runs well.
So at least 3 bugs here. :)
