Apart from that we are more interested into making application work with pure built-in dlls. What ou can do is 1)try with no native dlls and report back in this bug report to see if you're problem is fixed and 2) (if it doesn't work) try with your windows xp dlls and report back. Once game is launched, you see its messages in the terminal, but you can run another programs and cannot kill it with Ctrl-C. Is your version exactly v1.09 ? I am very interested in this possible difference. On the offtopic: I am very curious - what is happening, when you launch 'wine Diablo.exe' in 8-bit mode using nvidias native drivers. If answer will be more of an offtopic, please write me an e-mail message. I'd have to rewrite the config and probably reboot to get rid of the nvidia binaries to test it. But this is off-topic. I forgot to mention that my Diablo is v1.09, originally installed and updated with Wine, and no Windows anywhere.
