For me its caused by CopyImage() in dlls/user/cursoricon.c. I sent several approches to keep wine from crashing, but none was applied. Patcher loads up fine and runs fine, the second the main gaming window opens (direct3d) all the different windows and objects in the game flicker to black every second frame. (Each window, each character, all the parts of the ground.) The error is something along the lines of "Wrong surface type for locking." You can try to start the program with winedbg, "cont" from the initial breakpoint and "pass" all first chance exceptions until you hopefully hit this unhandled exception.
