image is likley NULL here.
can you run with WINEDEBUG=+x11drv here and check the X11DRV_GetBitmapBits
trace right before the crash?

Subject: Re: [Bug 2737] Poser 4 does not show the labels for controls = font
problem?
Reply-To: wine-devel(a)winehq.org
(Background: Poser 4 installed with wine 2005-02-11. It works, with
exception of font bugs as described.)
I've just tried wine 20050930. When run without modification ['cd
$POSER_DIR; wine Poser.exe'], the program no longer works. I see the
splash screen, and the typical initialization reports, but shortly
after, the window disappears. This is what's left on the command line:
err:module:import_dll Library MSVCIRT.dll (which is needed by
L"C:\\Program Files\\MetaCreations\\Poser
4\\Runtime\\Plugins\\FFMS.arp") not found
err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Exception frame is not in stack limits =>
unable to dispatch exception.
If I copy the MSVCIRT.dll from my Win2k system32 directory into the
Poser directory, and run it again (as above), I see the splash screen as
before; and a few more initialization messages than before. But the
window still disappears. I get the following:
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0023), starting debugger...
(The debugger doesn't start, I just get dumped back to the command line.
The thread number changes each time.)
Running 'winedbg Poser.exe' yields the following. (Note that I still
have MSVCIRT.dll in the program directory. Program behaviour matches the
previous test.)

I'm no programmer, but I can probably get more information from winedbg

Hm... further investigation shows that event 0x0018 (WM_SHOWWINDOW) is delegated
down through the DefDlgProc to DefWindowDlgProc, where it is blocked.
First, it returns 0 here:
if (!lParam) return 0; /* sent from ShowWindow */
If that part is commented out, it returns here:
if (wParam)
{
if (!(pWnd->flags & WIN_NEEDS_SHOW_OWNEDPOPUP))
{
WIN_ReleasePtr( pWnd );
return 0;
}
pWnd->flags &= ~WIN_NEEDS_SHOW_OWNEDPOPUP;
}
If I comment that out too, it tries to process event 0x0018 a whole bunch of
times, but it still doesn't work.

I'm not sure about that - I get no messages when I enable shdocvw trace.
Additionally, running with native doesn't seem to make a difference. I think in
my case it crashes before it gets to that point.
Note that I already have Steam installed (with account set up), and this is just
getting it to run, unlike other people which are having trouble getting it to
install, and trouble with the EULA...

It's a free download, so I added the download keyword and url.
This would probably be a pretty
popular app; I noticed quite a few posts around the web about
people needing something like this.

Hi,
Downloading d3dx9 from Microsoft requires passing a version check of the OS. I
don't have Microsoft Windows installed - even if downloaded successfully, the
SDK installer will fail, so I am having trouble obtaining that dll to run the
test you suggested.
However, I've done some more testing, and discovered that the crash occurs here:
> /* Create the hw shader */
> /* TODO: change to resource.glObjectHandel or something like that */
> GL_EXTCALL(glGenProgramsARB(1, &This->prgId));
in this function:
IWineD3DVertexShaderImpl_GenerateProgramArbHW(IWineD3DVertexShader *iface, CONST
DWORD* pFunction)
