I get this bug as well, in Baldur's Gate II, in wine snapshot 20050111 as well
as a more recent copy of the CVS tree. Something to do with the dsound
implementation and threading, I would guess.

Summary: Wine does not support ARGB or 32-bit color
Product: Wine
Version: 20050111
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.daz3d.com/studio
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Daz|Studio, which in 0.9.14.x and below, allowed use of 24-bit color. However,
it now (in 0.9.15.x) requires "32-bit" or alpha-blended color, preventing me
from using this app.
I'm using Xorg 6.8.0 w/Composite turned on, on a Gentoo system recently updated
(and portage set to pull the latest Wine release no questions asked).

Nevermind about providing an e-mail address to send the screenshots to - this is
the first time I've used the bugzilla system. (It really is quite sweet and
provides great functionality.) I've attached two such screenshots to this bug
as examples.

Summary: No Text Displayed in WINE

Version: 20050111
Platform: PC

Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary

I have installed version 20050111 and 20041201 from source, compiling for my
RedHat 7.3 system. (The RPM didn't work.) I used SideNet to set up the WINE
configuration. Everything seems to be fine, except that whereever there should
be text within WINE, whether in an application or in the file browser, there is
nothing. There is no text in labels, radio buttons, text boxes, on command
buttons - nowhere. I can provide screenshots of the phenomenon if needed - just
provide me an e-mail address to send them to. Likewise with any additional
information or supporting documentation. I'm guessing that a file in ~/.fonts
is missing - a list of the files in this directory is below.
Needless to say, this basically prevents me from using WINE. I'm greatly
anticipating doing so.
Index of ~/.fonts:
wine_courier.ttf
wine_marlett.ttf
wine_sans_serif.ttf
wine_system.ttf

Is it possible for you to proved the source code that demonstrates this?
