>From what i read i suspect you have accidently unchecked the desktop double
buffering box in winecfg.Look in ~/.wine/user.reg for something that looks like:
[Software\\Wine\\X11 Driver] 1137964209
"DesktopDoubleBuffered"="N"
"ScreenDepth"="24"
The "N" should be changed in "Y". Hope that helps
BTW Have you tried to move away (or delete) ~/.wine and create it again by
running wine? that's of course another way :)

Tested on FC4, wine 0.9.6-1.fc4 from Extras, EverNote_1.1.0.154.exe
When deselecting the IE plugin during the installation process, EverNote
installs successfully.
Unfortunately, starting EverNote yields a USER32.dll.UpdateLayeredWindow
unhandled exception (see attachment).

Switching to the console and back? When I experience the freeze of Steam, the
application is for me 100% non-responsive, and I can not switch to console,
neither can I do anything else.
I switched back and forth to console and experienced a freeze anyway.. so I
can't confirm that.
I again tried using both OSS and ALSA drivers with the same result. Still
freezing of Steam and games launched from Steam. I don't believe this is a sound
issue, because we have the problem when running no sound at all, and when just
running Steam, withing starting any games. What Gregor Muench is describing in
#28 seems like a hole other issue.

I installed wine a couple of days ago and it worked flawlessly until I tried

uninstalling/reinstalling, I can't get it to work again.
when I run winecfg, I get:

I found a couple of google results regarding this second error, but nobody
actually resolved them, and I didn't find anything in your current bugs.
Any Ideas?

ok i accidently submitted my bug, let's continue by description :
if we want to drag thoses multiples items, the instant we begin pressing the
left mouse button on one of the selected lines, the selection is lost, and it
will only drag one item
the problem is that LISTVIEW_LButtonDown can't recognize a ''unselect everything
but my line'' of a ''drag my selection'' immediatly
windows' does this like that : if we have a listview with multiple lines
selected, and we click on one of the lines :
- if the line was not selected, it will be selected at once
- if the line is selected, then Windows will wait for a WM_LBUTTONUP before
selecting everything but the line
a little annoying ...

Run wineboot. You'll see winampa.exe running as a klunky size-zero
window with nonfunctional titlebar decoration, and you'll
see a Wine-systray task appear in the task bar.
The size-zero window should not appear, and
the Wine-systray task, if it is to appear at all,
should do something useful, e.g. when you click on
it, it should give you a list of the apps it is running
on behalf of.

The Mplab installs correctly, but cannot start, on startup halts with error
'cannot create display plugin'. I've read the howto on appdb.winehq.org about
mplab, but still doesn't work, I think it's an another problem. There is an
option in winecfg on tab Graphics, 'Emulate virtual desktop', it must be checked
to see the error window. Without it the Mplab only halts, without any error window.
Wine version was 0.9.5-0.9.6, my kernel is 2.4.24-7, a small hungarian
distribution named UHU but I have this bug on debian sarge 3.1 as well.
