I am ultimately trying to get Half Life 2 running on Ubuntu Edgy.
So far Steam and HL1/TFC work great - no problems.
However HL2 won't start at all. Various web sites says it needs sound to run and
that OSS is best.
So i thought i would try and configure wine to use OSS (Edgy is already set to
use OSS in Sound Preferences but this didn't seem to make any difference).
Anyway, when i click on the 'Audio' tab in winecfg it crashes and i get this
message:
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file
or directory
Creating link /home/voteslave/.kde/socket-voteslave-desktop.
can't create mcop directory

This worked with 0.9.19 without overriding anything and now it doesn't. I'll do
a regression test.

No, it does not (I've replaced the one in
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/riched20.dll with one from winXP).
When I press F2 in Beyond Compare to trigger the line editing, I get the
following output at the console:
fixme:richedit:RichEditANSIWndProc EM_LIMITTEXT: stub
fixme:richedit:RichEditANSIWndProc EM_SETTABSTOPS: stub
The "strange" thing is that it had been fixed with some wine release, but got
broken afterwards again. But now at least it does not display weird chars, but
just an empty line.

I was able to reproduce the problem in the downloadable Notes version
7.0 client.
1. First, I tried forwarding a message known to cause the problem and
I'm happy to note that the forwarded version does the same, at
least on the Notes version my company uses (6.5.2).
I'll be happy to forward a copy of the test message to you or
anyone else who wishes to reproduce the problem.
2. Then I downloaded the evaluation version of the Notes 7.0 client
from IBM's site, as linked in the wiki:
http://wiki.winehq.org/LotusNotes
and installed it under Wine 0.9.22 on an up-to-date instance of
Kubuntu 6.10 (Dapper Drake).
3. I got Notes running after I removed all but TCPIP from the Ports
line in notes.ini.
4. I attempted to open the forwarded test message and got the same
crash as with 6.5.2.
