I apologize for not trying this before logging the bug. I installed Ct-Art using an older version of wine. I kept upgrading wine, but I never reinstalled Ct-Art. This seemed to solve the problem. Thanks for the help. According to the note's author the problem lies in the font not being recognized as a symbol font. He resolved this using fontforge to create a version that is recognized by wine as a symbol font. Just put the revised font into wine/fonts along with some core fonts for type and IT JUST WORKS. This resolves my problem... but still WINE and windows treat this font differently so there is still some incompatability. Then try moving the mouse. I can do this 100% of the time at the load game screen. I think it's hanging independent of the mouse movement.
