AFAIK the installer of the demo checks for d3dx9_26.dll. Copy that dll into
system32, and see if the behaviour changes (that is, if the DirectX install is
skipped this way). If so, this bug should still be fixed (installer fails)

Summary: Need DIB engine - Unnormal slowness in Arx Fatalis
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.24.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: romain.iehl(a)gmail.com
I decided to create this bug, since bug 3902 is resolved.
The fps in the game Arx Fatalis drops dramatically in the game menus, and ingame
under certain circumstances, this is most likely due to the lack of a DIB
engine, as bug 3902.
The patch which solved bug 3902 doesn't seem to take into account the kind of
structure which is used in arx fatalis. I don't know much about it, but looking
at the code, the patch seems to check for this kind of dib, and discard it, as
it cannot handle it.
The wine output is filled with :
"fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side
compressed DIB copy"

Ok guys, here is the results of Battlefront on Nvidia GF4 MX, 1.5.8 NVIDIA
96.29. Latest git tree too. Obviously Pbuffers don't work on r200/dri just yet
so that is why I have tested this:
Pbuffer = OFF, the skybox is upside down
Pbuffer = ON, the skybox is black, which is also what I saw when I tried
manipulating the y flip matrix myself.
Oh, BTW, looks like shaders have nothing to do with whats going on, at least
with nvidia. So it's the same problem across the board, and it's probably more
like what Henri last said.

This is true, if the FLA file contains a picture (i.e. is not purely vector
graphics). The saved file gets corrupted. Verified with wine 0.9.24, probably
same on 0.9.23. This is a recent bug, wine 0.9.17 works fine.

If we were able to install DXSetup.exe by any means (using some native dlls,
hacks, etc.) and if Civ4 would become happy about this, then we could find the
stuff it needs to run without updating DX easier.
I mean, it could be done by comparing registry keys and file listings from clean
and updated ~/.wine directories, and eliminating the from the last until Civ4
starts to complain again. No?
Jeff, can you please find this DXSetup.exe file on your filesystem and post size
and md5sum of the file in this report (just for exact reference)?

Even copying these directx files from a working install, the game fails to
start. It crashes with the following message after loading character data
(before character-select):
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x11e73bc8 at address 0xa23fdd
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
This is using today's CVS.
So, while fixing the install of these DLLs is definitely an issue that needs to
be addressed, it unfortunately does not fix EverQuest.

Summary: EVE online logserver toolbar redraw fails
Product: Wine

Platform: PC

the logserver can be found at http://elfenstein.mine.nu/eve/logserver.zip
when you start it, it shows 2 lines of toolbars with icons
if the logserver window gets hidden by an other window or you just open and
close the file menu then only the first toolbar is redrawn/restored, the second
toolbar still displays a part of the old window/menu
