+loaddll output with native msvcrt.dll
Perhaps interestingly, the log shows thar msvcrt seems to be loaded twice, once
the native and once the builtin dll. This occurs with msvcrt="native" in
winecfg.
andreas@fels ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/temp $ grep -i msvcrt dll.out
trace:loaddll:load_native_dll Loaded module
L"C:\\windows\\system32\\MSVCRT.dll" : native
trace:loaddll:load_builtin_dll Loaded module
L"c:\\windows\\system32\\msvcrt.dll" : builtin

Oops. Looks like my original bug-report is not correct. I did some further
testing and got the following results.
1) I wrote above that I used patch 26498 but in fact I used 26499 (I just found
out that the version displayed ingame is always 26498, no matter if 26498 or
26499 is installed. This is why I reported the worng version.).
2) The crash seems to happen only with 26499. Using 26498 creating characters
works fine.
I will use patch 26498 for now since there doesn't seem to be a major difference
between the two patches. I am sorry for any inconvenience this inaccurate bug
report may have caused.

Vitaliy,
thanks for the response. I tried native msvcrt but got exactly the same
behaviour, eg. the same parsing error messages. I could try to get +relay debug
output, not quite trivial since it prodices a 600MByte file and I have to find
the relevant section.

It seems nobody is able to confirm this bug, and the reporter hasn't gotten back
with results in 9x mode. Close the bug?

Please try native msvcrt.dll. This should confirm where the problem is.
