Eversince the year dot i've used opengl mode ( which with the registry edit DiasabledExtensions ) I do find to be slightly faster and smoother than D3D. In don't have any further data on this but my initial thoughts are that it's only in d3d the problem happens. I'm going to switch back to opengl for a time and see if the problem appears consistently in that mode. I'm gonna stick my neck out 7 say that I think it's probably a d3d problem only. I do have the flicker patch installed (even though I don't need it as I'm using ATI) and the registry edit and the wgl_init patch. I'll need to clean all this stuff out so I've got a standard 0.9.24 to makesure they don't contribute to the problem. (I don't think they do but you never know). This may take the devs a while to track down, I played the game for about an hour last night before it hung.
