Good morning,
I'm not familiar with the winecfg at all. My interest in this is that I downloaded a trial version of Norton Security and when it tries to execute the error message say that it couldn't find the entry point "GetModuleHandleExW". When I would open the Kernel32.dll in notepad I saw "GetModuleHandleA" and "GetModuleHandleW" but not "GetModuleHandleExW". I started trying to research how I could add it but was slightly on the fear side because I didn't want to mess anything up. Can you help?
Regards,
Paula

You probably need to install MDAC. While this comes with newer versions of Windows, it doesn't come
with older versions like Windows 95 and NT 4 (and probably Windows 98 too). So the software should
install it itself, or at least warn you about this. Therefore, this is a bug in the program, not Wine.

Yes, I got the same code I built on the school machine (where it *did* work),
brought it home, rebuilt (in the same environment - same configure options,
clean build, install into dedicated tree, renamed my ~/.wine - just so that my
older wine (and Windows) installs wouldn't interfere ...
... and it's still broken, somewhere. On both accounts.
[ and sound works ]
Currently, I have a as-much-as-possible-disabled build going on.
The computer is 'netless, which has unpleasant testing and time consequences.
Now, I will try
1) building as statically linked binaries as possible and switching them
between machines
2) building in the same environment (knoppix dvd)
3) full debug logs
I hope to find out if/whether it is other-software or even hardware problem.
Still, I don't see how one of those could affect *opening* of files, when it
works otherwise.

I have Fedora Core 6 (2.6.18-1.2849.fc6) and wine 0.9.27 (compiled from sources)
Same problems:
1. Two cursors
2. Game hangs (not immediately, but after about 10 seconds)
3. No sound (but may be this is not a bug and I can't setup system correctly)...

Although this hack likely works it can't be added to Wine. I have done some
additional research and it appears my hack won't work correctly on all cards
after all. The issue is in Ati's drivers. They report a (clientside) GLX version
of 1.3 which implicitly means that pbuffers are supported as they are a 1.3
feature. Further them advertising GLX_ATI_render_texture implies that as well as
it requires pbuffers. The issue is that even on cards like the old radeon
8500/9000 they advertise this but they don't support pbuffers on those.....
