But when you try to run the installed Aura1.exe (after you put Audio "Hardware Acceleration" to "Emulation"), it dies after a couple seconds, right after switching the screen to black. The installer aborts with the dialog Error Number: 0x80040706 Description: Object reference not set Setup will now terminate. http://wiki.winehq.org/InstallShield suggests the whole log is needed to diagnose these, so I'll attach one. It prints: wine: creating configuration directory '/root/.wine/'... then creates a new subdirectory ".wine-somethingrandom" and hangs there forever. I've read about people having the exact same problem on different versions of Fedora Core too (me I'm on a spin-off of Mandrake), so it is not specific to the Mandrake/Mandriva package. There is really a problem, the program is either looping or endlessly waiting for something in particular. I used to have (probably 2-3 years ago) a working installation of WINE, then I've been a while without using it, now I need it back but I really can't get the newer versions to work.
