I just gave it a try with wine 0.9.45 and it complains about TWAIN regardless
of scanner connected or disconnected (same error). So now the problem seems to
be either:
1) Wine paral·lel port support
2) Wine TWAIN support
What should I try now ? Override native wine libs with windows dll's until it
works ?

I can also confirm this under Mandriva 2007.1, with wine-0.9.44. I haven't
tried it with the debug flags, but I have exactly the same behaviour. Anything
else to try? I notice this has been around a while (initially submitted in
2005).

Using 0.9.46 I do not see any trace of this bug. It would appear to be fixed.
Thanks for your attention!

MSCD
It turns out a device ioctl routine is already implemented in MSCDEX as
handling of the int 2f/AX=1510h (which is another way to pass an ioctl to the
low-level device). This patch implements passing these IOCTL to MSCDEX
(partially in a dirty way) but that seems not to satisfy Bonner Katalog. Bonner
Katalog uses ioctl 0 which returns a pointer to a DOS device header. By setting
memory traps one can see that BK reads the pointers to the strategy and
interrupt routines but it seems it doesn't call them. I'll investigate why.

You might want to try Wine 0.9.46. I see something similar to this in Source
games (Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, etc) and with the latest version,
there's no texture darkness at all. Not 100% sure this is the same bug, but
this bug is listed as affecting CS: S, so it might work, as there was some sRGB
work noted in the ChangeLog for 0.9.46.

The bug seems to be gone in Wine 0.9.46 - at least it did not show in about 30
minutes of testing.
