With version 0.9.52 of wine, as soon Everquest 2 switches to 3D mode the

Summary: Regression - page fault in Laser Squad Nemesis - Wine
0.9.46
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.46.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d

Page fault in Laser Squad Nemesis, running under wine 0.9.46
Wine version 0.9.46, Laser Squad Nemesis version 3.10
OS - Debian Sid, Nvidia 6200 with proprietary driver version 100.14.11
--
Laser Squad Nemesis now throws a page fault whenever anyone visits the menu
screens - a shame, since it worked fairly well under 0.9.44 and even better
under 0.9.40. Beyond the menu screens, the actual game still works fine,
however (you can run the LSN executable with a gamefile as an argument to go
straight into the main game, bypassing the initial menu screens, but the bug
still renders it unplayable).
The backtrace shows that the line causing the damage is line 1001 of
./dlls/wined3d/surface.c, which spams a big bunch of 0xFF to some d3d surface's
alpha channel, as a fix to Sid Meier's pirates. Commenting out the line that
reads '*data |= 0xFF000000;' makes Laser Squad not break.
Wine output with backtrace and error messages attached - here the game was
running in it's own windowed (as opposed to fullscreen) mode, and wine was not
running with a virtual desktop, although the page fault occurs under virtual
desktop mode too.

If a server has HTML code in the MOTD, TF2 crashes.
At the MOTD screen you get a black square where the MOTD is supposed to be and
the continue button is unclickable.
NOTE: I am not sure which component this relates to, but I had to guess as
bugzilla would not accept it otherwise.

Some things in FlatOut 2 (v1.2) have wrong color when post-processing is on.
It's not visible on a screenshot, and neither are any post-processing effects.
I don't know exactly what all is wrong, but the obvious thing is that black
parts of cars, like tires, are light-brownish instead of black, and that the
distant half of the ground left and right to the road also has some
light-brownish color addition too.
caused by commit:

with the broken version I also get one additional message:

Crash log
The original LEGO Racers game crashes when one tries to start the application.
Crash log included. No clue what Component to file this under either.
There is a demo of the game, but it seems to crash at a different stage of
loading the game. (I don't claim to be an expert, mind you.)

Summary: No input/output after AllocConsole

pro1.c - simple source that demonstrates the AllocConsole problem
MSDN library includes sample code for console applications
(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa263818.aspx). The source is
available at: http://www.helsinki.fi/~sund/console_vs6.zip . The source
compiles easily with winelib after --cuiexe transformations with winemaker.
The first example is about freeing and allocating a new console. These
are basic operations that each reasonable console application should
perform.
The problem with wine is that input and output for console are disabled
after a (second) call to AllocConsole. That makes most interactive
console applications unusable.
The problem can be replicated by running the sample code application
with wineconsole, and by selecting the first example from the list.
To make even easier replication possible, I have attached a simple
source that demonstrates the problem (works smoothly in Windows).
I used the following commands to compile the attached source:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$WINE/library:$WINE/unicode
winegcc -c -I$WINE/include -o pro1.o pro1.c
winegcc -L$WINE/dlls -luser32 -lgdi32 -ladvapi32 -lkernel32 -lddraw -ldsound
-lwinmm -o pro1.exe pro1.o
