Summary: Endnote 7 wont work

Version: 0.9.44.

Regression.
Hi, (this is my first report, so I hope its OK)
I am trying to get Endnote 7 Demo Version to work on (k)ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
After installing into Wine which goes smoothly program fails to run at all.
Logs suggest that the problem (or at least the first one) is this;
Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls"
I have no idea what this means. The full shell output is available as an
attachment inside the TAR file. Also as an attachement is the ENDnote 7 demo as
a zip file, as its quite hard to find on the web.
Endnote software errors are also reported in errors ID. 3173 and 8003 but this
is a different error it seems. Previously according to APPDB reports EndNote 7
was working (last known working date though is 2004) so I don:t know where the
break occurred. Frank:s corner also reports ENDNote 7 demo to be working (Wine
Version: 0.2.22)
Your help is very much appreciated. Endnote is a common tool for scientists
especially as it is almost integrated into the most common online literature
search site (web of science). Like many I can:t live without it and therefore
scientists like me can:t move to Linux even though I want to.
Thanks

Shows The application we run. Combo Boxes containing 3rd are not actionable.
We have a custom Visual Basic application which has been working very well
until we upgraded to wine 0.9.44.
suddenly the combo box drop down functionality stopped working. That is to
say, when we click the downward pointing triangle, the drop down does not
appear.
I downgraded to 0.9.43 and the functionality was restored.

Summary: Age of Wonders 2 demo doesn't hide X cursor correctly
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.50.
Platform: PC

(Demo available at http://www.triumphstudios.com/ageofwonders2/files.html; it
installs quite painlessly.)
Pretty straightfoward problem: using the default configuration, the scepter
cursor draws almost flawlessly, but it doesn't hide the X cursor, so the
scepter gets drawn under the X cursor.
This is probably a duplicate of something, but I can't find anything obvious
with a simple Bugzilla search.
I'm using Wine 0.9.50 on Ubuntu 7.10.

Any particular reason. If there is no reason can I just create a stub for it.

Summary: Lord of the Rings Online - Switch to windowed mode
causes program to abort
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ajackson(a)bcs.org.uk
Got a strange problem that has started to occur since the changes to 0.9.43.
When you start the game in full screen mode and then try to switch to windowed
mode the game client displays an error dialog box and when you click OK (it
displays it 3 times) the game crashes and returns you to the command prompt.
The only error shown on the console is
err:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_CheckDeviceType unsupported format WINED3DFMT_X8R8G8B8
Having looked at the function in dlls/wined3d/directx.c I noticed something a
bit strange.
The function contains a line of code that reads:
for (it = 0; it < nCfgs; ++i)
The function above it contains a very similar line which seems to be doing the
same check.
for (it = 0; it < Adapters[Adapter].nCfgs; ++i)
I added the Adapters[Adapter] part to the function where the error was occuring
and can now switch to windowed mode without getting an error message.
If you need any traces or regression testing let me know and I'll provide the
information.

Summary: Black Screen while using dxlevel 90, 80 or 81 to play
CS:S
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: steffen-trekki(a)web.de
When I started CS:S the first time, I got a black Screen, but everything works,
only the screen was black.
I tried to disable the Pixel Shader, but it doesn't helped.
A few days later, I read that you have to use "dxlevel70", I tried it and it
works.
But now I've only 20 fps.
I've an ATI Radeon X1600 Sapphire with fglrx driver (games like Americas Army
or World of Padman, or even Stronghold Crusader working fine, so it's not my
system).
I've heared the same from many other friends which use wine, so it is really a
wine problem.
