Summary: regression - problems with the OSS driver / foobar2000
unexpected issues
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-multimedia
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: justivo(a)gmail.com
I have been hearing the Wine developers are not improving the OSS driver
anymore. I mean, what the heck? OSS 4.0 has become free software, and most
UNIX-style systems are going to move to it (Solaris, *BSD, etc.).
What brings me here is foobar2000, which used to work just fine and now is
spewing out some weird errors as of Wine 0.9.43. This is one of them:
err:wave:wodOpen fragment size set failed, size is now 2048
Your Open Sound System driver did not let us configure small enough sound
fragments.
This may cause delays and other problems in audio playback with certain
applications.
I have checked with the OSS developers, they think it's a Wine issue as the
Wine OSS driver hasn't been updated to work with OSS 4.0. I'm using OSS 4.0
for a month now, and I don't remember this happening before, so I suspect it
may be a regression.
This is causing sound stutering when running as a normal user. While running
as root, the error still shows up in the logs, but at least it's not causing
stutering.
What I seriously suspect it's a regression is the 4front's headphones plugin I
use on foobar2000. The plugin sticks on the system tray (of KDE) and allows me
to change the configuration, which is stored on the Windows registry. It
doesn't load anymore as of version 0.9.43.
The logs are showing other messages that didn't appear before:
fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly
L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls"
And:
fixme:advapi:SetNamedSecurityInfoW L"OSPI_CTL" 6 4 (nil) (nil) (nil) (nil)
fixme:keyboard:RegisterHotKey (0x10056,49236,0x00000003,90): stub
fixme:keyboard:RegisterHotKey (0x10056,49238,0x00000002,74): stub
What can I do to help fix any of those issues?

Summary: dropdown menus don't show when clicking on them
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.50.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-comctl32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: benjamin.dev(a)schallar.com
Since wine 0.9.49 drop down menus no longer show their menu list when clicking
on the triangle of the drop down menu. (I think last time it worked was with
wine 0.9.48, but I didn't test that yet.)
This is happening on Debian Lenny/Testing with linux 2.6.23 on i686 with X.org
7.2 without compiz/beryl installed at all in the win32 app foobar2000 version
0.9.4.4.
Currently my workaround is using the up/down keys to select items in the drop
down menu, however I would of course be very grateful if someone found the
regression causing this functionality to stop working.
PS: I'm not sure about which component this concerns, but AFAIK foobar2000 only
uses standard MFC controls..

Summary: serial/COM code misinterprets XON/XOFF direction

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tombrus(a)gmail.com
The code in dlls/ntdll/serial.c interprets SERIAL_AUTO_RECEIVE to IXON
and SERIAL_AUTO_TRANSMIT to IXOFF (and visa versa). This is wrong way around,
SERIAL_AUTO_RECEIVE corresponds to IXOFF and SERIAL_AUTO_TRANSMIT to IXON.

The latest version of Soldat (1.4.2) runs very slow compared to older versions.
Different things are being spit out by the terminal, which I assume lead to
these problems:
$ wine 'C:/Soldat/Soldat.exe'

fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_ResourceReleased Vertex buffer released while

Both the blitting surface (0.9.40ish) and that Vertex Buffer (only seen it with
0.9.43) are new to me.

when installed on 0.9.51 the text is garbled. had to remove all the fonts in
windows\fonts and had to do wine-prefix-create.
