"ABC By Dr. Seuss" (ABC32.EXE)
"ABC By Dr. Seuss" (ABC32.EXE) running in Ubuntu 7.10 with Wine 0.9.52
As each animated element moves, it 'reveals' the background image over which it
passed. The entire background *should* be visible at all times.

I can confirm this bug using Ubuntu Linux 7.10 and Wine 0.9.52 from the Wine
repositories with "Dr. Seuss's ABC", part of the "Living Books" series (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_Books_series) Here are the only errors I
get running it from Terminal:
---
$ wine ABC32.EXE
fixme:mixer:ALSA_MixerInit No master control found on MPU-401 UART, disabling
mixer
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to
8
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_GetDeviceCaps (0x1e4): CAPS1 is unimplemented, will return
0
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to
8
---
I'll add a screenshot in a sec.

I had the same issue. Make sure your driver emulation for your sound driver is
turned on. This solved my problem.
