Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-winelib AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: josh(a)barbanel.net I installed TurboTax 2006 using Crossover 6.0.0 and it worked o.k., except that it could not update the program with updated tax files. The program error message indicated that the program was "unable to verify your Internet Client Dll file's Internet signature." (error 9124) According to a support person at Turbotax, this was due to a new check introduced this year to make sure a shared DLL had the correct company name on it. He suggested wine was unable to correctly read the company name using the system call VerQueryValueA. I am running Fedora 2.6.19-1.2895.fc6 x86_64 and wine 0.9.17. I'm using wine 0.9.31 on Ubuntu Edgy, but I also tried 0.9.17 with similar results. I created a clean wine directory, and managed to run the lotus install.exe without trouble. [My wine installation seems to be OK - as a test, I got Mozilla Seamonkey to work flawlessly] After installing it, I got a couple of "missing DLL" errors, which were solved by copying them from the lotus CDROM into windows/system32 - this is exactly what I did 2 years ago. However, now the program simply refuses to start. The complete output I get is copied below. Is there any other test I can do that would be helpful? But I also did try 0.9.30 yesterday and found the bug also in that version too. I believe I was using 0.9.30 for the past months until I upgraded the firmware on the device being connected to the com port (actually using a usb to serial device to connect the serial/com device to the computer's usb port).
