I have tried to do the regression tests, but I can't get wine to build. I get
errors like:
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/rjn/winetest/2005-01-01/tools/wrc'
gcc -c -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include
-DINCLUDEDIR="\"/usr/local/include/wine\"" -Wall -pipe
-mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -fno-strict-aliasing -gstabs+ -Wpointer-arith -g
-O2 -o lex.yy.o lex.yy.c
lex.yy.c:9173: error: expected ‘;’, ‘,’ or ‘)’ before numeric constant
The offending line (9173) in lex.yy.c is:
YY_BUFFER_STATE yy_scan_string (yyconst char * yystr )
which looks OK to me.
Help?
In the meantime, I also found the oldest deb I can locate, namely for 0.9.3, in
which this is also broken. Is there an archive of old (2004-2005 era) wine
binary packages anywhere?
Thanks for your help,
Richard

Dear Dmitry Timoshkov,
Again, thank you very much for your help and kind replies. I would like to appy
the patch, but I don't exactly know how....
I think that, to apply the patch, I need to compile Wine from source? Could you
tell me exactly how to apply the patch? I succeeded in compiling Wine 0.9.33
(the current stable version) from source and I did a "make clean".
P.S. I'll be kind of busy with work and familiy business the next few days or
weeks, dunno if I'll have the time to resolve this... But I'll try. :)

I still see fixme's from builtin odbc when I run your script.
The bug appears to be that 'try' implies a sub shell invocation,
so the env variables need to be exported:
export WINEDLLOVERRIDES="odbccp32,odbc32=n"
try $WINE $WINETRICKS_CACHE/MDAC_TYP.EXE
Also, on line 128 you need a '$' before 'WINE'.

like this:

Sure, you can do that. You would only be able to do it for a selected number of
directories at a time and you'd have to decide when to process the inotify
events - a separate thread may not be an option due to applications not
expecting this.

Summary: Broken mouse movement in No Man's Land
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.28.
Platform: PC

OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: regression, download
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alex(a)thehandofagony.com
Somewhere between Wine 0.9.27 and 0.9.28, the mouse movement in No Man's Land
became broken. When moving the mouse, it will usually jump to one of the
edges of the screen instead of moving the appropriate distance. Note that
mouse movement does not currently work at all for this game, due to a
regression between 0.9.28 and 0.9.29 (bug #7832).

Note that the mouse behaviour is not correct right before this point; the
cursor moves back to its previous position unless you move the mouse really
fast. I will open another bug report for that problem.

Summary: Hang upon exiting Oblivion
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.33.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: test
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: anthonyhaslam(a)btinternet.com
Using this guide to play Oblivion: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Linux
I experience regular hangs when exiting the game. It happens about 90% of the
time & requires several attempts at killing Oblivion.exe.
This seems to be the relevant part of the output:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000000c at address 0xb7d918d2
(thread 0010), starting debugger...
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7efecfa4 "loader.c:
loader_section" wait timed out in thread 0015, blocked by 0010, retrying (60 sec)
This is also apparent in Wine 0.9.32. I use Zenwalk 4.4 & have also tried it on
Sabayon 3.3 with the same result.
If you need more info I'll gladly provide it, though it'll have to be next week
as I'm going abroad this afternoon.

can you retest with at least Wine 0.9.32 and attach a log with

This bug also seems to happen with other units & buildings on different zoom
levels. However, it only seems to happen when there is only one unit/building
in the view. If see something exhibiting the bug, and then order another unit
to step into the view, the bug is gone the moment the other unit is visible.
