I tried to change it so it to 'let windows manager' handle the windows in winecfg but that seems to have no effect. Additional information. When the stuttering occurs, it sounds like the normal variety. Sound drops out occasionally, then catches up. After a while, the stuttering increases to the point where is sounds like a loop (like a skipping cd). Closing the application at this time will result in a lockup. So then I did like everyone suggested and set WINEPREFIX to where I want my wine c drive to be and it created it.. So I did what isnt recommended and made a symlink from .wine/drive_c to where I want the wine c drive to be and it still worked.
