i don't know what really is critical (maybe instant crash, when trying to start
the application), but it is still as unusable as if it wouldn't work at all. an
online game, that isn't able to connect to a server is pretty much useless. i
hope you'll find the time to look into it some day, though i'm quite sure,
you've got more pressing issues ;).

Dimitry,

The second test, process.c worked just fine, returned a status of 0.
So as far as you know none of the devs use BSD? I'll ask the FBSD port
maintainer for wine if he does any coding.

Summary: Window problems when running Citrix ICA client ICA16
v6.20.985 (Win16)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.31.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: christianuceda(a)yahoo.com
When running the Citrix client ICA16 v6.20.985 (Win16) in wine you experience
odd window behaviour on some of the application dialog windows.
Im running ubuntu 6.10 and I got wine as a .deb package from the Wine
repository 0.9.31~winehq0~ubuntu~6.06-1
You can get the Win16 ica client from:
$ wget http://download2.citrix.com/files/en/products/nfr/ica/ica16.exe
You may experience problems installing this app, refer to bug 7591 for
information about how to deal with installer issues regarding this particular
application.
Installer Bug Link = http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7591
After the app has been installed, launch the configuration tool:
$ wine "c:\\ICA16\\Wfcmgr.exe"
The citrix configuration app will launch and will open a dialog asking to
create a new configuration, just say "No"
Now click on the first icon on the toolbar to add a new configuration, three
things can randomly happen:
1) A blank window (nothing on it) sized 6329x237 pixels opens. (Screenshot
ica16_Screenshot1.jpg)
2) A window sized 1x237 pixels opens. (Screenshot ica16_Screenshot2.jpg, also
check ica16_xprop_1x237)
3) A Sized 6329x237 pixels opens but this time controls and images are visible.
(Screenshot ica16_Screenshot3.jpg also check ica16_xprop_6329x237)
Because of this problem the app can not be configured and no further operations
are possible.

ReportedBy: christianuceda(a)yahoo.com
If you try to install the Citrix ICA client v6.20.985 (Win16) in wine you
experience problems
Im running ubuntu 6.10 and I got wine as a .deb package from the Wine
repository 0.9.31~winehq0~ubuntu~6.06-1
To reproduce the problems just do:
$ rm .wine/ -fr
$ wineprefixcreate
$ wget http://download2.citrix.com/files/en/products/nfr/ica/ica16.exe
$ wine ica16.exe
When the unzip dialog opens, click on unzip, then ok, At this point the install
will fail with the following output:
1) If you run the setup from an Xvnc remote session:
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display "localhost:1.0".
err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect

At this point the install has stopped, however the installation can be resumed
just typing:
$wine "c:\\windows\\temp\\disk1\\setup.exe"
The installation continues fine from this point, however if you run it through
a remote Xvnc session you get the installer to freeze, to reproduce:
If you do not configure wine to run as "Windows 3.1" you will get a warning,
but it can be ignored for this exercise.
To install the software do:
1) Click next
2) Click Yes
3) Click next
4) Click Next..
5) Type a name on the name textbox and click next
5.1) if you are running this from a Xvnc remote session the installer
will hang with the follogin message:
If crash: err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7b921200

retrying (60 sec)
5.1) On a local X session the app runs fine at this point.
6) Click on OK and the install is finished.
After the application has been installed if you try to re-run the setup.exe
to reinstall the app, you get a nice wine crash on the floor (see attached
ica16_winecrash.txt) To make things even more interesting I do not get the
crash if I redirect the err output to a file ie:
$wine "c:\\windows\\temp\\disk1\\setup.exe" 2>err.txt
It just run normally as expected, you get the crash only if the err output is
not redirected to a file.

Please file separate bugs for the install and the post-install problems.
(If I were you, I'd close this bug as INVALID, as it's got so
much detail about the two mixed together that anyone working on
it is likely to get confused/annoyed...)
Be sure to use the download keyword on both, and the install keyword
on the installer part.

Good to hear you can reproduce the problem
with just the commandline. The next step
might be to do
WINEDEBUG=+relay wine npWBench.exe EnterprisePortal.rmp > log.txt 2>&1
to see what it was doing when it crashed.
You might want to look at hs_err_pid8.log (or whatever)
to see if there are clues there.
By the way, several bugs in msvcrt that affected Java were fixed
recently. You might try with wine from git to see if this
is already fixed, or you might try using native msvcrt.dll to
see if that works around the problem.

I have an intermitent problem where wine sometimes runs a windows app and
sometimes doesnt.
I modified the kernel32.spec file by commenting out the following lines:

I did this because I waas getting a runtime error when trying to the windows app.
I then compiled and installed wine 0.9.31 on fc6.
Now I find that sometimes the app runs and sometimes throws the following exception:

I've added four native dlls:

and used winecfg to add my app and set the ddls to native.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi!
RE 4 installs successfully, it needs d3dx9_30.dll to run (No builtin one !!!),
the in-game menu appears, i hit "start", then the game crashes when loading :(
Maybe it's due to the use o native d3dx9_30.dll (and there's no builtin version)
or maybe the game crashes when it tries to play the intro video .

OpenWorkbench from command line with file name supplied hs_err_pid8.log
If I try to run it from the command line with a sample file name, it appears to
be starting (window opens, flash image) but then closes and the following is
printed in the terminal window (though if I try again a few times, it opens the
file - usually on the third attempt :-):
./npWBench.exe EnterprisePortal.rmp

I can work with the project and even save it, and then reopen recent files.
But save As :-( closes the application as indicated previously.
Thanks for the interest :-).

More info. - trying with file name supplied in command line.
NB a few retries and the application opens the file :-).
Problem of saving it again later remains, but I can open recent files :-).

I just bought me a brand new PC, installed Ubuntu Edgy, copied
my .wine-directory over... and the game STILL blanks the entire screen.
So it's definitely NOT a hardware issue, and the kernel and xorg are just the
vanilla ones supplied by the distro.
So I'd say the issue lies with wine.
I'm using the onboard video of Intel 945G

Summary: Wrong working directory?
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.31.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-files
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: snildo(a)bolina.hsb.se
In some applications, Wine doesn't find certain files. I think this would be a
problem with working directories or something. I've seen it in two applicaitons:
Reason (3.0), when choosing a song from the list of recent files, and an
application called "Runeword Wizard", when running.
In the case of "Runeword Wizard", there are three .dat files with data the app
uses. These files reside in the same directory as the app itself. When I start
the app with Wine, I get three popups that say "File not found". My theory is
that the applications tries to access the files with a relative path, and that
this is not identical between Windows and Wine.
Runeword Wizard can be downloaded here:
