Yep. I use the same installer/media on both real Windows and Wine and yes, the
EXE is always the same on Wine (I tried 3 installs and compared MD5 sums).
I get the following console output during install:

Can you please make a re-diff so I can add it to the Command & Conquer 3
how-to? Proper cursors would significantly improve the gameplay! :)

Summary: Tribes Vengeance mouse glitch
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: b.buschinski(a)web.de
The mouse behavior in Tribes Vengeance is weird
the mouse finall moves but...
Ingame the view/rotation is limited to 90° to right and 90° to left
which makes it impossible to turn around
(the up and down 90° limitation is correct)
but the mouse goes totally crazy if you change the resolution ingame

Looks like a bug in shlwapi.PathAddBackslashW
Native shlwapi doesn't work due to a missing shell32 export.
P.S.
Please DO NOT PASTE logs and back traces, (attach them instead).

Hello,
as i said. The PE executable you supplied is invalid - for both native windows
and wine.
This could be an installer issue, yes.
You use the same installer/media/computer for both?
If you reinstall the game in wine do you get the same corrupted binary every
time (file compare/crc)?
Are there any suspicious installer console outputs (errors, fixme's)?
Regards

It's possible to slightly alleviate the effect of this bug by setting
the "Always render strategic icons" to on in the options menu.

Interesting. Never mind what I just said. When installed on real Windows, the
EXE indeed is a different one. So this is really an installer issue?

I suspected there is something wrong with the EXE, but it really comes with the
installer. And on real Windows it works just fine. Is Wine going to emulate
Windows' more generous behavior?

Guys... I almost forgot about this bug. Using wine-0.9.34, I can install or
upgrade this software without problem. In fact, it now looks like the real
thing on a Win box which I appreciate.
My current problem, which I thought I'd reported is that the app (installed at
Rfwin/rfwin95.exe) starts, then puts up a dialog stating "No Default printer
selected" -- see new bug 7967

I checked this key on windows, and it looks the same like in the patch. Does
this mean those apps you';re talking about would crash on windows because of
this? ( i guess they don't, so i do not understand this)

Summary: Midi events not making it to Modplug Tracker
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.31.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: chris(a)mccormick.cx
Hi,
Under wine when I use a USB midi keyboard, none of the keyboard events make it
to the application (Modplug Tracker).
To duplicate this under wine and windows:
1. Download mpt116.zip from http://mccormick.cx/mpt116.zip (It's GPL so I am
allowed to distribute it from there).
2. Unzip and run the executable.
3. Go to the setup menu and select the midi tab.
4. Select your USB midi keyboard in the pulldown menu.
5. Click 'apply' and then 'ok'.
6. Click the 'midi record' button at the left of the song control buttons.
7. Press play in the song control buttons.
8. Hit keys on your USB Midi keyboard. Under Windows notes will appear in the
pattern. Under wine nothing happens.

I marked as critical, because I have a crash (I need to hard reset my PC), and
reading the description of severities:
Critical crashes, loss of data, severe memory leak
Major major loss of function
I thought "critical" was more appropriate.
By the way there's no prob to consider it a "major" bug... just to explain my
choice was not a random one.
As stated by Tom Spear this bug is different, in this case there's a crash, not
a simple graphic problem. Also the WoW patch is different.
