The browseui failure is probably also caused by an outdated wineprefix. Try to
recreate it or run "wine regsvr32 browseui.dll" if you can't delete the old one.

This size of this particular installer is about 25 Mb. Is it really OK to post
such a large file as an attachment to this bug report? I don't currently have
any file hosting service personally available, free or paid.

Summary: Lexis Silec Pro - Installshield/MSI installer fails to
extract DLL
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.34.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.lexis.com.ec/lexis/Productos/silecpro.aspx
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: Installer
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-msi
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: a_villacis(a)palosanto.com
When trying to install Silec Pro from Lexis (a browser application of legal
files and documents), the following error appears in a dialog right after trying
to start copying files:
[InstallShield DLL Custom Action]
Failed to extract 'C:\windows\temp\Lexinst.dll' from the binary table.
Problem appeared inside a CentOS virtual machine running Wine 0.9.x (specific
version unknown), and was confirmed in Fedora Core 6 running Wine 0.9.34 in a
real machine. I was informed of this problem just today, and I will try to look
into it in my spare time. However, I know very little about MSI, other than it
seems to use SQL for queries into installation data.
Program is not freely downloadable.

OpenGL child window patch + NWN hack (?)
This patch is the same opengl child window patch as before but with a change to
allow the NWN model viewer to work. I don't know whether it is fully correct. I
have seen Lionel do something similar and need to talk to him about it. Please
test if it works better (I doubt it will fix the Weatherscope issue yet)

I've just sent a patch to fix the crash when starting QuickTest Pro (http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/
wine-patches/2007-April/037789.html). However, it still doesn't start due to missing registry keys that I
think are something to do with licensing.
This bug is getting a bit long. Do you want to enter a new bug for QuickTest Pro not starting and assign it
to me?

crash backtrace
Hello,
when closing the window, the app writes config data to xml file.
The crash is due to wine msxml deficencies.
Offending part:
--- snip --
trace:msxml:xmlnodemap_getNamedItem 0x177220 L"CompactMode" 0x34e3fc
fixme:msxml:domdoc_createAttribute
trace:seh:raise_exception code=e06d7363 flags=1 addr=0x7b840750
--- snip ---
msxml domdoc_createAttribute() fails (returns E_xxx) which is checked by app.
The exception afterwards is raised on purpose (C++ exception).
Workaround: use native msxml3 for now (e.g. "winetricks msxml3")
Regards.
