The code, that produced the "err:..." is in "dlls/kernel32/oldconfig.c".
The affected debug-channel is "+reg"
A log with WINEDEBUG="+relay,+seh,+reg" can help to verify,
that the crash is [not] related to the above error.
Please attach also the output of:
lshal
and the output of:
cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Thanks.

Just so you know: wine-0.9.31 does not have this problem anymore for me.
Unfortunately i did not check the versions in between, but i think that does not
matter now anyway :)
Thanks for this great app :D

Reproduced here. See my comments on bug 5415. Should we mark
this as a dup of 5415?

Just tried it myself, and sure enough, it doesn't install.
A workaround is to install three IE6 registry keys (the usual
one plus two App Paths ones; even crossover needs this for
quickbooks), native msxml3, and mfc42.dll. The easiest way
to do that is
wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
sh winetricks fakeie6 vcrun6 msxml3
(Ignore the error from the msxml3 installer; that's a
bug in wine that James is fixing, doesn't see to cause trouble.)
The app then installs. I think that makes this an msxml3 problem.
The install log also shows quite a few COM errors, but they don't
seem to be showstoppers yet. Here are the last few, for reference:
err:ole:marshal_object object doesn't expose interface
{be6115a1-7de5-48dc-ad2a-25060e00fce2}, failing with error 0x80004002
err:rpc:I_RpcReceive we got fault packet with status 0x6be
err:ole:ClientIdentity_QueryMultipleInterfaces IRemUnknown_RemQueryInterface
failed with error 0x80004002
fixme:ole:DllRegisterServer stub
err:ole:TLB_ReadTypeLib Loading of typelib L"C:\\Program Files\\Common
Files\\Intuit\\QuickBooks\\QBUpdate\\QBMsgMgr.exe" failed with error 1813
err:ole:TLB_ReadTypeLib Loading of typelib L"C:\\Program Files\\Common
Files\\Intuit\\QuickBooks\\QBUpdate\\QBMsgMgr.tlb" failed with error 2
(I also tried running the app. It's darn hard to get the clickthrough
license agreement to enable the yes button, and just as hard to get
it to recognize a click, but eventually it did for me. The next
problem is the splash screen stays up forever; I think
there's an error dialog behind it. +text shows its contents.
But that's really another bug.)

4 different pc's and many different versions of Wine, all without success.
After starting the program, osfinancials 1.0.2.1 or 1.0.1.0, the program crashes.

I can finally move the mouse, which is great but..
ingame I cant move it like it should
I cant only look 90° to the right and 90° to the left, which makes 180°
and so I cant turn around..
beside up/down works like it should with 90° limitation to up and down
maybe someone mixed something up?

I don't have VMware.
I get 100% CPU usage with wine. On my fastest computer it takes a few minutes to
burn a 27C256 EPROM.

Have you tried burning eproms in vmware running windows? The parallel port
scales with cpu there as well. I do not think this is a bug in wine.
My problem on the other hand is that the port doesn't use enough cpu and burning
roms is significantly slower with wine. In vmware 99% of cpu is used and it is
done in about 15mins. In wine 18% is used and its done in ~1.5hrs. I'm
wondering if there will be any more work on the parallel port to alleviate such
a problem. Thanks.

Sorry about posting the full log. I will add "--nostrip" in the future. I
generally use emerge as it is convenient, pulls from your repository, and works
for my particular environment. It's as close to a generic build as can be.
I will learn to read, and try to rid myself of my improper bug-filing habits.
