This could be a duplicate of 7990, but I'm not so sure. It most certainly is not
a duplicate of 8048. (For that matter, I'm not sure if 8048 is even valid, as it
works for me with GLSL).

The patch that moves the behaviour from the blank window with rapidly flashing
cursor to the behaviour that I observer in any 0.9.x release of wine (i.e. areas
of application dont redraw or repaint properly) is patch
db412aaf60f999b76927d613ce221c69954fe40e
Added a from_child parameter to the get_update_region request to allow
restarting the search from a given child, in order to avoid looping
forever on windows that don't repaint correctly.
I'll see if I can get some debugging log or output from files affected by this
patch.

Summary: Oblivion clears save game list at random
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.35.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: test
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ben(a)atomnet.co.uk
This is a really odd bug that I just checked on someones behalf who was
experiencing it aswell. Basically you bring up the save menu and save and you
may see your other save games, but then in future when you bring it back up the
entire save list may be empty. The problem is it also shows up as being empty
when you try and load a game too which means you can't actually load a game at all.
The problem is, after the initial save (which seems to cause this issue) you can
tell it to save and it says it does, but looking in the Saves folder from Linux
shows that it's not created any more saves.
So in summary, you can save ONCE. After that the list will appear empty and when
you tell it to save it wont actually do anything.

Just for reference, this bug still occurs in wine-0.9.35-1.fc6. Campaign loading
screen appears, but as soon as it would probably go on to the next screen (I
can't tell what it's doing, but based on load time I'd say it's about to finish
doing pre-loading and open the main campaign window) it crashes with the same
output as previously. The last normal output is still repeated
"fixme:process:GetProcessWorkingSetSize (0xffffffff,0xb5ec40,0xb5ec3c): stub"
Thanks

Anastasius Focht's solution (adding COMDLG32_SetCommDlgExtendedError(0) at four
places) looks very reasonable to me. It should be sufficient, but I wouldn't
dare to submit a patch since on the one hand I don't really oversee possible
side effects and consequences and on the other hand I don't really have any
experiences with creating & submitting patches and I'm not brave enough to
experiment with something like patches ...
regards & thanks in advance to Anastasius Focht & the others
