log output of the failing tests
sorry for the broken wineprefix.
so i deleted ~/.wine, downloaded wine 0.9.35 and retested the whole thing.
here are the failing tests now:
iphlpapi/iphlpapi.ok
kernel32/change.ok
msi/install.ok
ntdll/change.ok
ntdll/exception.ok
ntdll/info.ok
oleaut32/olepicture.ok // this seems to be due to not compiling with jpeg
oleaut32/vartest.ok
user32/win.ok // this now reliably crashes Apple's X11
implementation so it may be their fault
usp10/usp10.ok
ws2_32/sock.ok
so this brings us down to 11 or 9 failing tests.

Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ben(a)atomnet.co.uk
When you try and run the program an error message pops up with a rather cryptic
fatal error stating that the application failed. There is only one line echo'd
into the terminal which is:
err:ole:TLB_ReadTypeLib Loading of typelib L"oleacc.dll" failed with error 1812
And nothing else. The application fails to load past this point.

Verified that the problem is within ddraw. Installing 0.9.15 with ddraw.dll.so
from 0.9.16 crashes EU2 at the same spot as pure 0.9.16
Too bad the changelog between 0.9.15 and 0.9.16 on ddraw is pretty heavy.

Unfortunately I think that will be somewhat hard to fix. The problem is that the
application assumes 256 vec4 constants are available, while we've only got 235,
because we use up a few uniforms for bool and ivec4 constants.

(It's still present while trying to compile older wine versions like 0.9.1.
'export LDFLAGS="$LDFLAGS -Wl, --hash-style=sysv"' let's the compile of old
wine-version go fine for me.)

This is a bug in opengl. The game starts fine in (very old) wine version
wine-20050219, and crashes in wine-20050419. So it's a regression between these
two version. A regression test might be handy to track down the patch that broke
this

where EU2 stopped working. 0.9.15 works just fine.

I'd be happy to attach a log of those debug channels, but it will be a few hours
before I'll be able to make that run as I have some real-time work in progress.
I'm not experienced with WINEDEBUG, so I'd like to make sure I get the syntax
right: (I use csh.)
setenv WINEDEBUG "mshtml,shdocvw,urlmon,htmlhelp"
wine program-file-path.exe >& logfile
Should I put a '+' in front of each channel name?
Thanks.

I'm not using IE or other web browser function. I'm seeing the problem with the
help button in the PAF application, which I think uses HtmlHelp or something
similar to that.
Besides that, I always use a clean Wine prefix area, removing the old one
multiple times to verify repeatability.
