Also, my linux-based browsers work just fine, as do windows-based browsers when they're run from a windows box. I'm really not an expert on this stuff though ---I'm reading about transparent proxies now, but I don't know how to configure one. You mentioned that the missing stuff should be fixed. There's a lot of missing stuff, some of which is presumably irrelevant to this problem (e.g. linux/ucdrom.h) but I have no idea what most of it does, or where to get it.
