Yet, it deserves mention that things have somehow improved since first bug-report (improvement is not 0.9.35 specific, but appeared through the series). Specifically: Document icons are now ~ OK. Spurious document tabs still appear, but their behavior is very predictable (for every tab, you get a spurious empty tab, with no window associated to it, that when clicked produces a completely blue or a completely white screen). I've tested on wine 9.35, 9.34, and 9.31, and the behavior was the same. Both Firefox and Opera (I've tested multiple versions of both) can't access web pages normally, however if I enter the IP address for a site, they can connect and load it. Additional weirdness with Opera: One of my machines runs apache, and simply entering in a url (e.g. http://www.google.com) redirects to a default page (e.g. http://www.google.com/apache2-default) on that machine. Turns out libxrender-dev was missing from the build dependencies, and Wine was being built without it. I've uploaded the fixed package to our Edgy APT repository now.
