With today's git, and with the fake ie6 registry key
(e.g. winetricks fakeie6), the app seems to install successfully.
Thanks, everyone!
I also fixed the dependency link to point to bug 6085,
but that dependency might not be valid anymore.

Bug 7690 seems to be fixed with current git, so
I gave this one a shot. It fails now with dialog box
"Could not locate entry for HAL.DLL in SETUP.LOG to determine type of HAL to
update.""
So this may not be the best place to obtain Jet 4.0... it's
also trying to update the operating system. A few choice +relay lines:

Is there another jet 4.0 runtime installer somewhere that's not so NT specific?

Summary: month calendar has been working wrong since 0.9.33
version
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.33.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-comctl32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tomekc01(a)poczta.onet.pl
I use application for reading e-newspapers: www.egazety.pl.
Since 0.9.33 wine version month calendar control has started to work wrong.
For example for april, the first day of month is placed in first row of
calendar, and there is incorrectly selected current day (selected 2.04 - today
is 9.04), and I can't select any day in the first row,
Before, evrything works fine.

This appears to be enough to make the installer believe .net 2.0 is installed:
cat >> $HOME/.wine/system.reg <<"_EOF_"
[Software\\Microsoft\\.NETFramework\\policy\\v2.0]
"4322"="3706-4322"
_EOF_
Then, with the help of Dan's great little tool we add a truckload of
required packages:
~/winetricks.sh -q fakeie6 corefonts tahoma mdac28 || ~/winetricks.sh -q
native_mdac mdac28 jet40 mono12
The installer wants to update both mdac and jet but eventually it
completes. Running the app produces a nice mono backtrace:

On Windows the year field goes back to 1900, and there is a scrollbar when the
drop down is opened.
On Wine, there is no scrollbar. When you start scrolling down using the down
arrow, the later dates disappear and you have to scroll back up using the up arrow.

win32 %c versus posix %x %X for a wide range of locales. I'm
curious if there are any differences.

Ok. What does it means for me/us? I want to plan how to organize my scientific
knowledge. As far as I can interpret It will take a long time to get .net working?
Theres another equal software called "Visual Composer .net". But I think this
will also not work because of .net installation.

What version of Wine was this? Problems like this are expected
in wine-0.9.33 and earlier.
Wine-0.9.34 has a fix for a similar sounding bug.

Changing summary and keywords per Lei's analysis.
This is another one of those bugs that either
depends on supporting .NET or on getting Mono integration working.
Lei says it needs .net 2.0, btw.
