Summary: CNC3Demo freezes the system when setting resolution
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.35.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ajrich(a)earthlink.net
The freeze occurs when I try to change the screen resolution to be the same as
what the X server is set to. If I have it at 1280x1024, the default when I log
in, setting the Demo's resolution to 1280x1024 causes the freeze. However, if I
increase the X server's resolution to 1600x1200, setting CNC3's resolution to
1280x1024 works fine, but 1600x1200 causes the freeze.
Once the freeze occurs, the system ignores all keyboard input - even
ctrl+alt+backspace and ctrl+alt+delete are powerless. A hard reboot is
necessary. The mouse pointer can be moved, but it's pretty useless.
Visually, there's a black square covering the upper left part of the screen, and
my X desktop is visible below and to the right. I can't take a screencap,
because of aforementioned impotence of the keyboard.
Reported for 0.9.35, compiled from source with cursor and crash patches applied
as instructed by the AppDB's HOWTO
(http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=7440)
I can also confirm this bug for yesterday's CVS, again with cursor and crash
patches.

Summary: fr-041 (Debris) fails to render correctly
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
URL: http://trackmania.org/fr-041_debris.zip
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ns03ja(a)brocku.ca
In Wine 0.9.34, this was fine, while in Wine 0.9.35, the issue manifests
itself.
A git bisect reveals the following:
75e91fa4098c80fa390e3c3f8231e2ef69a659d0 is first bad commit
commit 75e91fa4098c80fa390e3c3f8231e2ef69a659d0
Author: H. Verbeet <hverbeet(a)gmail.com>
Date: Mon Apr 9 01:54:07 2007 +0200
wined3d: Use the framebuffer blit extension to implement StretchRect.
When using FBOs, fr-041 is initially rendered mostly correct (although quite
overbright), however, after about 5 seconds, things simply stop being rendered
and the upper portion of the screen becomes solid white, while the rest of the
screen is frozen at the last rendered image. Additionally, in
wine-0.9.35-69-g55a18d7, Wine crashes at the above point, rather than
rendering simply stopping.
I should note that this only happens when using FBOs. When using backbuffer
instead of fbo, there are no crashes and I don't notice any rendering issues.
Furthermore, I don't notice any visual difference between (correctly working)
fbo and backbuffer.
Geforce 7950 GT / 9755 drivers
UseGLSL = enabled
OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo

errors leading to crash
I get a similar error while playing "Project Eden" running 0.9.35 / ubuntu
7.0.4. While sound is off the application works fine, the crash generally
happens in game, randomly at which point the program freezes. Before the crash,
I get errors like this:
err:dsound:DSOUND_MixInBuffer length not a multiple of block size, len = 806,
block size = 4

We should not be supporting the use of cracks.
For one thing, it's illegal in some places,
and for another, the crack could be buggy or infected.
(Which on reflection sounds pretty gross :-)
So while we might fix this sometime accidentally,
any bug report about a crack should be marked INVALID,
IMHO.
