(Message posted here instead of duplicate bug# 8932) Upgraded to the latest
version of wine at this time per instructions in bug# 8932, and I'm still
getting the same error message:

I'm not sure why Scott closed the bug, but sounds like the bug isn't fixed. Can
you try with the latest Wine? If you still have the problem, please reopen the bug.

I successfully installed Jane's USAF with wine 0.9.36, but failed to run it.
After installing wine 0.9.40 from winehq, I could run it, but it is extremely slow.
This is a Win98 game, so it should be able to run on my IBM T23 hardware
(Pentium III, 1 Ghz).
But the game actually runs; it doesn't work on Windows XP :-)

I am running wine 0.9.40 (from winehq). I get a black screen when loading
F18.exe (no-cd). After Ctrl+C, I get this stack trace:
